Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan familiarized with forest science in the republic

Ravil Kuzyurov visited the East European Forest Experimental Station. Within the framework of the visit, a working meeting was held, during which the current state and prospects for the development of the forest science of the Republic of Tatarstan were discussed. At present, scientists of the forest experimental station are engaged in such scientific developments as the study of the state of forest cultures created by planting material with a closed root system.

Also during the visit, the Minister inspected the Kazan arboretum, founded in 1926, where rare tree species such as the Manchurian nut, Maaka cherry, the Ussuri pear and other species grow. After that, the Minister inspected the building of the East European Forest Experimental Station, built in 1948. Such outstanding foresters of the Russian Federation as F.V. Agliullin, N.M. Vedernikov, A.M. Murzov, K.V. Krasnobayeva and others worked at this institution. Also, the Minister got acquainted with the library of this institution, where there are books dated 1844.

The Tatar Forest Experimental Station is a branch of the Federal State Institution "All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Forestry and Mechanization of Forestry". The "Eastern European Forest Experimental Station" was organized on October 1, 1926, as a forest experimental station "Tatarstan", with the aim of scientific and practical development of forestry issues. The main task, which the staff of the station is solving, is the scientific support of forest management in the Middle Volga region.
