Coordination of activities for extinguishing forest fires was discussed at the Forestry Department in Volga Federal District

Today the Department of Forestry in the Volga Federal District held a meeting in the form of a video conference on coordination of activities to extinguish forest fires. The meeting was held by the Head of the Department, Aleksandr Ornatsky.

The event was attended by representatives of the forest authorities of the Volga Federal District, including from the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan - Deputy Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan - Rais Gumerov, Acting Head of the State Control and Supervision Department - Ramil Shaikhutdinov and Head of the Forest Fund Protection and Conservation Sector, Nail Mirsiyapov.

During the meeting, Aleksandr Ornatsky dwelled on the issues of preparation for the fire-dangerous season of 2019, including inspections of forest fire equipment and other equipment, formation of mobile fire extinguishing groups, etc.

Let us recall that in the Republic of Tatarstan the fire hazardous season in the forests will start on April 15 of the current year. In preparation for this period, a “Consolidated plan of extinguishing forest fires in the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan” was developed and approved. According to the schedule, the maintenance of special motor vehicles of the fire and chemical stations, creation of forest fire formations, as well as explanatory work with the heads of rural settlements, population, tenants and owners of land adjacent to the forest fund are currently being carried out.

In order to detect and extinguish forest fires on the territory of the forest fund in the republic, there are 18 fire-chemical stations of II type at forestry enterprises and 5 fire-chemical stations of III type at the State Budgetary Institution of the Republic of Tatarstan “Forest Fire Center”. Fire-chemical stations of II type are equipped with 162 units of various equipment and fire-chemical stations of III type - 60 units of specialized equipment.
