More than 1.5 million pieces of planting material were planted in the framework of the republican environmental campaign “Forest Week – 2019” in Tatarstan
Today, mass planting of trees as part of the republican environmental campaign “Forest Week - 2019” and the All-Russian campaign “Save the Forest” took place in the Republic of Tatarstan. In Kazan, the central venue for the campaign was the territory of the GAUZ City Clinical Hospital No. 7. The event was attended by the Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan Ravil Kuzyurov, the Minister of Health of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Sadykov, the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Aleksandr Shadrikov, the Chairman of the Association of Youth Governments of Russia Dina Gayzatullina, employees of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Tatarstan and the State Autonomous Health Institution “City Clinical Hospital No. 7”.
“We conduct such campaigns on planting trees 2 times a year - in spring and autumn. This site was chosen at the suggestion of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Tatarstan; today more than 400 European spruce seedlings will be planted here. The campaign takes place in all municipalities and cities of the republic, also today commemorative plantings and alleys are laid in honor of the 100th anniversary of formation of the Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic”, said Ravil Kuzyurov, Head of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan. “We are very grateful to the residents of the republic for their support and contribution to conservation and augmentation of forest resources”.
RT Minister of Health Marat Sadykov noted the need to develop an urban environment around hospitals. “I am confident that such parks will contribute to the speedy recovery of our patients”, he said.
In Kazan, the campaign was held at three more sites - near the Sosnovka and Kulseitovo settlements of Vysokogorskiy municipal district and near the Staroye Shigaleyevo village of Pestrechinskiy municipal district. Planting material in the amount of 60 thousand pieces was used for afforestation of these territories. In total, 1.5 million pieces of planting material (seedlings of common pine, European spruce, Siberian larch, small-leaved linden, common rowan) were planted in the Republic of Tatarstan on the area of more than 300 hectares. Over 21 thousand people joined the campaign.
This year, the Republican environmental campaign “Forest Week” will be held from October 5 to 12. Within its framework, forestry specialists will carry out planting of trees, cleaning the territory of the forest fund, landscaping recreational areas in forests, installing nameplates and banners on fire and forest protection topics, collecting seeds of forest plants and environmental lessons in educational institutions.
In 2018, more than 20 thousand people became participants in the campaign. They created commemorative plantings, alleys and new forest plantations on the area of 300 hectares, more than 1.1 thousand cubic meters of solid household waste and deadwood were removed from the forest fund.
