Employees of the Forest Protection Center of the Republic of Tatarstan completed land inventory in the framework of the “Forests Conservation” federal project

Employees of the Federal Forestry Agency “Roslesozashchita” branch - “Forest Protection Center of the Republic of Tatarstan” completed work on identification (inventory) of land not occupied by forest stands and requiring reforestation using remote sensing technologies. The work was carried out as part of the “Forests Conservation” federal project of the “Ecology” national project in the territory of pilot forest districts – State Public Institution of the Republic of Tatarstan “Laishevskiy Forest District” and State Public Institution of the Republic of Tatarstan “Nizhnekamskiy Forest District”.

“The territory of both forest districts was examined, after which we carried out land verification work on the area of ​​107 hectares, said Elena Murzayeva, Head of the “Tatar Forest Seed Station” branch. - Thus, information is generated on reforestation fund in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation. In accordance with the federal project “Forests Conservation”, by the end of this year, 7% of the land in the country’s forest fund that is not occupied by forest plantations and requiring reforestation should be examined by 100% by the technology of automated decryption of remote sensing materials by the end of this year. These data will be used by Rosleskhoz, Roslesozashchita, as well as regional executive bodies in preparation of forest plans, design of reforestation works”.
