Ravil Kuzyurov, Head of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan, participated in a meeting on implementation of investment projects on efficient forest management

Today, a meeting on implementation of new investment projects on efficient forest management was held at the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation. The meeting was attended by the heads of regional forestry authorities, including from the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan Ravil Kuzyurov.

During the meeting, issues related to implementation of investment projects in the field of forest development, their financing, and others were discussed.

The Head of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan Ravil Kuzyurov presented two projects at the meeting - on creation of a center for growing planting material of oak with a closed root system and on improvement of ecological condition of the Volga River.

The Minister said that the project to create the complex is planned to be implemented on the basis of the Forest Selection and Seed Center of the Republic of Tatarstan. Currently, work is underway to develop design estimates. With the successful implementation of the project, the production capacity of the complex will be 2.5 million units of oak seedlings with closed root system per year.

As part of the second project, it is planned to lay down water-protection forest stands along the Volga and Kama rivers. Such a network of plantations will help to prevent the ingress of soil particles, chemical elements and municipal solid waste into the water surface and increase groundwater. To implement this project in the republic, the Ministry selected land plots with a total area of ​​3,200 hectares.
