First Deputy Minister Ilgizar Zaripov spoke about the progress in implementing the regional “Forests Conservation” project on “Radio Tatarstana”
Today, the First Deputy Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan Ilgizar Zaripov became a guest of the broadcast “Tatarstan - National Projects” of the radio company “Tatarstan”. There he spoke about the implementation of the regional project “Forests Conservation in the Republic of Tatarstan” as part of the federal project “Forests Conservation” of the national project “Ecology”.
Ilgizar Zaripov said that implementation of the regional project includes the achievement of two target indicators. The first indicator is “the ratio of reforestation and afforestation to the area of felled and lost forest stands”. The design value of the indicator for 2019 is 62%. By 2024, it should reach 100%.
So, in the current year, reforestation and afforestation work was carried out on the area of 2,471 hectares, including measures for artificial reforestation - on the area of 1,729 hectares, combined reforestation - 34 hectares, promotion of natural reforestation - 542 hectares, afforestation - 165.7 hectares.
“Thus, the ratio of reforestation and afforestation area to the area of felled and lost forest stands is 66%”, said the First Deputy Minister.
33.2 million units of standard planting material were grown for performing work in 2020, including 25.6 million - conifers, 6.4 million - hardwood, and 1.2 million - shrubs. Also, foresters plan to harvest more than 11.4 thousand kg of seeds of the main forest-forming species. To date, 4.9 thousand kg of seeds have been harvested.
According to Ilgizar Zaripov, the second indicator is called “damage from forest fires over the years”. It is not established in a numerical value due to the fact that it is the result of a spontaneous, unpredictable natural phenomenon. This year, the fire hazard season in the republic was opened on April 15 and closed on October 10. In total, during the fire hazard season, 663 cases of fires on lands of other categories on the total area of 354.7 ha were recorded. Thanks to the coordinated work of inspectors, foresters and executive authorities of municipal districts of Tatarstan, forest fires were not allowed to occur.
In addition, the regional project provides for equipping the subordinate institutions of the Ministry with specialized forest fire and forestry equipment. This year, 73 units of machinery and equipment (15 units of forestry equipment (forest planting machines, cultivators, plows), 13 fire tankers, 4 universal forest fire complexes, 4 small forest patrol complexes, 3 crew vehicles, 2 bulldozers and 32 portable motor pumps) were purchased as part of the project.
