In 2020, the Republic of Tatarstan introduced the Geographic Information System of the Forest Fund of the Republic of Tatarstan, developed by the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Ministry of Digital Development of Public Administration, Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Tatarstan and ANO VO “University Innopolis”. GIS of the forest fund of the Republic of Tatarstan is a geo-information portal where all data on the forest fund of the Republic of Tatarstan are collected on a single cartographic base. Thanks to integration with the service for monitoring and controlling the state of the forest fund based on remote sensing data, the system allows you to automate the activities of accounting and management of forest resources, to timely identify changes in the forest fund, incl. illegal felling of forest plantations, burnt-out forest areas, areas with forest pathology, illegally erected buildings and structures.

The next step in the digitalization of the forestry complex of the Republic of Tatarstan will be the transfer of a number of public services provided by the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan into electronic format. This project is planned to be implemented in 2021-2022. with the help of specialists from the Ministry of Digital Development of Public Administration, Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Tatarstan. It is expected that in the future the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan will be able to provide such state services in electronic form, as the provision of extracts from the state forest register, the conclusion of contracts for the sale and purchase of forest plantations for the personal needs of citizens, the acceptance of forest declarations and reports on the use of forests from citizens, legal entities, carrying out the use of forests, the provision of forest plots for permanent (unlimited), gratuitous use, the conduct of state expertise on the project for the development of state-owned forests, the provision of a forest plot within the forest fund lands for lease based on the results of an auction and without an auction.
