In the Forest Breeding and Seed Center of the Republic of Tatarstan (Sabinsky Municipal District) where ball-rooted planting stock is grown the seeds have been sown. 4 million pieces of European spruce, Scotch pine, Siberian larch, etc. have been sown in 4 greenhouses. The forestry specialists are going to proceed to the next stage of sowing in May-June. In total, in 2017 the Forest Breeding and Seed Center plans to grow 12 million pieces of planting stock.

The seedlings are in greenhouses from 4 to 6 weeks. Then they are carried to the fields for the completion of growing (hardening), for further adaptation to their natural conditions. To date, on the fields for hardening there are about 8 million pieces of the ball-rooted planting stock which will be used for the forthcoming spring silvicultural work.

For five years of work, the Forest Breeding and Seed Center has become widely known and popular among representatives of all “forest” regions of Russia and the post-Soviet countries. For acquaintance and exchange of experience a unique enterprise was visited by foresters from the Altai Region, and in the near future the delegation of the Irkutsk region is going to visit the Center.

Within the framework of the international environmental campaign “The March of Parks 2017” a Week of Birds is held in the Agryzsky District. The inspectors of Kichke-Tan Nature Sanctuary visit schools and daycare centers. The purpose of such meetings is to foster kindness and love for birds. From these meetings children learn a lot of new and interesting things about birds, about what birds come back to us from warm countries, what are the spring concerns for birds.

It is in spring when the birds demonstrate a great miracle – love of the Motherland, overcoming thousands of kilometers when returning to the nesting places. Every spring, the scream of migratory birds for all becomes the song of love for the Motherland.

In Solnyshko Daycare Center, Kichketan Village, another spring campaign to make birdhouses “Let’s meet birds” was held. Those who took part told poems, riddles, proverbs, fairy tales and fables about birds. The inspectors of the sanctuary told the children about the benefits provided by birds, reminded children why the birds should be preserved and protected. Father Frost and Nauruzbika who did not want to give way to each other came to the festive event. Their competition to be the leader was held in the form of games where children actively participated.

The daycare center children with their parents made houses for birds. The experts of the sanctuary hang the new cozy birdhouses on the territory of the daycare center. Now, all summer the preschoolers may observe the life of feathered friends. At the end of the event the most active children received gifts from Kichke-Tan Nature Sanctuary.
