In connection with the entry into force of the Order of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation No. 451 "On the approval of the list of information included in the report on the use of forests, the form and procedure for reporting on the use of forests, as well as the requirements for the format of the report on use of forests in electronic form " as of August 21, 2017 the Report on use of forests should be submitted by citizens, including individual entrepreneurs, legal entities using forests on a monthly basis, not later than the tenth day of the month, following the reporting period (using forests for timber, as well as when using woods for other purposes, during which forest plantations are cutting). In cases where forests were not cut down, the report should be submitted annually, no later than January 10 of the year following the reporting year.

Citizens carrying out the harvesting of timber for their own needs on the basis of contracts for the purchase and sale of forest plantations must submit a report once upon the results of the end of logging operations, not later than the tenth day of the month following the reporting month.

Order of the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia No. 573 "On the establishment of the procedure for submitting a report on the use of forests and its form, requirements for the format of the report on the use of forests in electronic form" as of December 25, 2014 is recognized as invalid.
