On March 30, in Laishevskaya Secondary School No. 3, a meeting of 7-8 graders with the Deputy Forester Head of Laishevskoe Forestry Fazliev F.F. was held.

At the beginning of the conversation, he awarded the Certificate of Merit to the Director of the school Khusnullin R.Z. for the help to the forest establishment in the planting of seedlings, in which the 5-9 graders take part annually.

Then, during the speech Fanil Fasilovich referred to the interesting facts from the history of the forests of Tatarstan, spoke about the measures taken by the forestry workers in order to preserve and multiply the forest resources of the republic.

In addition, the pupils were given the occupational guidance, they were talked about the professions related to the forest and in which educational institutions of Tatarstan one can get the education of a forestry specialist.

At the end of the meeting the students thanked the head forester for a meaningful speech and assured that they were eagerly awaiting the Day of Tree Planting 2017.

On March 29, a seminar was held on the territory of Buinskoye Forestry in order to improve the quality of activities concerning the use, conservation, protection and reproduction of forests.

The First Deputy Minister E.N.Bedertdinov, the heads of structural units of the Ministry, representatives of Roslesinforg, as well as district foresters, engineers, deputy head foresters of Buinskoye Forestry, Isleitarskoye Forestry, Zelenodolskoye Forestry, Privolzhskoe Forestry, Prigorodnoye Forestry, Tetyushskoe Forestry, and Kaibitskoe Forestry took part in the event.

During the meeting, the main issues on acceptance of works on reforestation, issues related to the implementation of the federal state forestry supervision in forests and the procedure for bringing to administrative responsibility for violation of forestry laws have been discussed. In addition, the reports on “The procedure for providing forest plantations to citizens for their own needs”, “On the procedure for maintaining the state forestry register” and “New rules for timber harvesting approved by the Order of the Ministry of Natural Resources No. 474 dated September 13, 2016” have been heard.

At the premises of Konskaya Secondary School, Pestrechinsky Municipal District, Republic of Tatarstan, the pupils together with the teachers and experts of Laishevsky Forestry created the Environmental Calendar for 2017. The ecoproject was presented during the lesson devoted to the Year of Ecology. The purpose of the project is to cultivate environmental awareness and culture. The objectives are to replenish the environmental knowledge database; cultivate the cognitive interest when working with visual and linguistic material, cultivate careful attitude to nature.

The children did their best; they provided brief information about the history of the environmental date establishment, environmental issues, and the campaigns that are held annually in support of nature in different countries.

According to this Environmental Calendar, the school plans to conduct extra-curricular activities, campaigns, exhibitions, competitions and much more.

April 18 – the Day of Reserves and National Parks

Today, in Russia, there are 136 reserves in different natural areas and 35 national parks. In the Krasnodar Region there is 1 reserve – the Caucasus Reserve – and 1 national park – the Sochi National Park. There are 16 reserves and 407 natural monuments in the region. The largest number of natural monuments is allocated in Sochi (90) and Tuapse region (65).

 

April 22 — the Earth Day

In Russia, the Earth Day is celebrated since 1990. On this day, throughout the country the film festivals, exhibitions, concerts, press conferences, street processions, performances in schools, work with mass media are organized, appeals and petitions are prepared.

 

October 29 — the International Day for Biological Diversity

Biological diversity meaning the existence of numerous species of plants and animals is an indispensable condition for human survival. Yet, biological diversity continues to decline, and ecological balance undergoes changes.

 

June 5 — World Environment Day

World Environment Day is a “people's event” accompanied by such colorful performances as street rallies, cyclist parades, “green” concerts, essays and posters contests in schools, tree plantings, as well as a campaign to regenerate waste and clean the territory.

 

June 17 — the World Day to Combat Desertification

Desertification is one of the most disturbing global processes of environmental degradation. It threatens the health and means of sustenance of more than 1 billion people. Every year desertification and drought leads to losses of agricultural products, amounting roughly 42 billion US dollars.

September 16 — the International Day for Preservation of the Ozone Layer

The ozone layer lies over the earth as a huge veil that goes into space. If this layer is depleted someday, it will be dangerous for the entire biosphere, for all living creatures. Due to the ultraviolet rays fall on a person, a skin cancer, blindness and other diseases may occur.

In the rural library the experts of Dolgaya Polyana Nature Sanctuary gave a talk to the pupils of the secondary school of Monastyrskoye Village, Tetyushsky Municipal District. The lesson was coincided with the Year of Specially Protected Natural Reservations in the Republic of Tatarstan. The children became familiar with the inhabitants of the forests of the republic, the diversity of the forest landscape, the species diversity of tree and shrub vegetation, as well as specially protected species included into the Red Book of the Republic of Tatarstan. In addition, the profession-oriented work was carried out with the graduating students. The children were told about Lubyansky Forest Engineering College, the profession of the forester, its relevance in the ecological situation of the today’s world.

At the end of the event the gifts were received from the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan. A particularly valuable gift was the third edition of the Red Book of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The interregional research and practical school conference “Nature and Our Place Therein” dedicated to the Year of Ecology and Public Spaces was held in the Agryz district of the Republic of Tatarstan at the premises of Kichketanskaya Secondary School. The inspectors of Kichke-Tan Nature Sanctuary, teachers of biology and ecology of comprehensive educational institutions of the Agryzsky district of Tatarstan, and the Alnashsky and Malopurginsky Districts of the Udmurt Republic took part in the conference.

The conference was aimed at the development of the environmental, intellectual and creative activity of schoolchildren, the cultivation in children of the interest in environmental problems, the formation of skills in the project activities of schoolchildren. The conference summarized the experience of work on environmental education and upbringing, the development of the creative potential of teachers, raising their competence in the field of environmental education.

The experts of Kichke-Tan Nature Sanctuary visited open lessons, participated in presentations, conducted master classes and answered questions from pupils and mass media representatives. The head of Kichke-Tan Nature Sanctuary A.G.Fayzullin spoke to the participants of the conference: “Nature conservation is a sacred duty of everyone. Treat all living creatures sacredly”.

At the end of the event the active participants were awarded diplomas and the third edition of the Red Book of the Republic of Tatarstan.

On March 25, an official awarding ceremony of the winners of the 10th city contest “Let's Save the Forests of Tatarstan!” was held in Prigorodnoye Forestry. The First Deputy Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan Emir Bedertdinov took part in the event. In his speech he noted that this year a record number of works was submitted for the contest – over a thousand materials (crafts, drawings, and leaflets regarding environment and fire prevention) were presented. “It is very gratifying that the love to the native land, conservation and careful attitude towards forests of our Republic are cultivated in the younger generation,” said E.N. Bedertdinov and wished all the participants further creative success, creative imagination and artistic skill.

This year's contest “Let's Save the Forests of Tatarstan!” was coincided with the Year of Ecology. The purpose of the event is to increase the awareness of children and their parents about the importance of forest ecosystems, their condition, and cultivation of environmental outlook and culture in the younger generation; fostering careful attitude towards environment. The preschoolers, schoolchildren of Kazan schools, teachers, children's and youth organizations took part in the event. The materials were evaluated in the following categories:

  1. Drawings on “Let's save the beautiful forests of my Tatarstan”. Individual participation
  2. Crafts made of natural material on “The forest is my green friend!”. Individual or team participation
  3. Fire prevention leaflets “Protect forest from fires”. Individual participation

In total, more than 1143 works were considered. The best environmental and forest protection drawings are going to be printed on billboards along federal and regional roads near major cities of the Republic of Tatarstan.

On March 25, the All-Russian working seminar “Educational Tourism and Environmental Awareness on Specially Protected Natural Reservations” was held in Kazan Kremlin Museum Preserve. The organizer was the Tatar Regional Branch of the All-Russian Public Child Environmental Movement “Green Planet”. The delegates from the Republic of Karelia, the Republic of Chuvashia, the Mari-El Republic, the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District and the Stavropol Region gathered for the seminar in Kazan.

The employees of the environmental and education departments of Kivach Nature Reserve, Bolshaya Kokshaga Nature Reserve, and Chavash Varmane National Parks told about their work. Kazan teachers told about their participation in the expedition “We are the children of the Volga”, which is annually held in Plescheevo Lake National Park.

The head of Chulpan Nature Sanctuary who shared his experience in organizing environmental and educational activities took part in the event.

Within the framework of the profession-oriented work to attract high school graduates for 2017-2018 academic year, on March 24 the Doors Open Day was held in Lubyansky Forest Engineering College. The children, parents, heads of forestries and forest establishments took part in the event. The schoolchildren and their parents received information about the rules of admission, the conditions of study and residence in college.

At the same time, a meeting of graduating students with the heads of forestries and forest establishments was held, where the heads acquainted the children with the vacancies and work specifics of the timber industry.

During the video conference, the issues of adjusting the state programs of the constituents of the Russian Federation aimed at the development of forestry were considered, the preparation to the forthcoming fire season was discussed.

Under this slogan an event was held in Arkskaya Elementary School No. 3 of the Arsky District, which the experts of Ashit Nature Sanctuary held with the pupils of the 3rd grade. The experts of the sanctuary acquainted children with the specially protected natural reservations of their native land. The main objective of the event, held in the form of the games of the Club of Cheerful and Inventive, was the spread of environmental knowledge among young people, cultivation of careful attitude towards environment, love to nature, drawing attention to environmental problems. The children treated the event creatively: they used the artistic word and musical performances. At the end of the event, participants were presented the gifts and diplomas of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan.
