2 million seedlings were planted in Tatarstan as part of the All-Russian action “Let’s Save the Forest”

Today in the Republic of Tatarstan, a mass planting of trees was organized as part of the All-Russian action “Let’s Save the Forest”. In Kazan, the central area of the action was the territory of the residential area “Salavat Kupere”. The event was attended by the Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan Ravil Kuzyurov, Deputy Executive Director of the State Housing Fund under the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Bulat Gilmanov, specialists from the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan, the State Housing Fund under the President of the Republic of Tatarstan and residents of the complex.

“For a long time, we wanted to carry out work on the improvement and landscaping of this territory,” commented the Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan Ravil Kuzyurov. “We hope that the residential complex will become even brighter and more beautiful, and the planted trees will delight the eyes of residents for many more years.”

“In general, in the Republic of Tatarstan, the action takes place at 130 sites, it is expected that more than 20,000 people will join it. We are sincerely grateful to all the participants for their help and contribution to the conservation and enhancement of the forests of our native republic,” added Ravil Kuzyurov. “I want to assure you that all the trees planted as part of the campaigns are under our control, we annually conduct an inventory of the created forest plantations.”

In total, 2 million pieces of planting material were planted in Tatarstan today on an area of 595 hectares. The action was held on a large scale in Vysokogorsky, Laishevsky, Zelenodolsky, Almetyevsk, and Bugulma municipal districts.

Recall that republican environmental campaigns for planting trees have been carried out by the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan since 2011. Their goal is to foster a caring attitude towards the forest and to attract public attention to the problems of preserving and increasing forest resources. For 12 years, new forest plantations were planted in Tatarstan on an area of more than 8.1 thousand hectares, planting material in the amount of 32.1 million pieces was used, and the total number of participants exceeded 567 thousand people.

For reference. For the first time, the All-Russian campaign “Let’s Save the Forest” was held in the country in 2019. In three years, its participants planted 150 million trees. The environmental initiative has rightfully become one of the largest in Russia.

This year, the All-Russian action “Let's Save the Forest” started in early September in Kamchatka. Its goal is to plant 70 million trees to support the region hardest hit by wildfires. The organizers of the action are the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation, the Federal Forestry Agency, ANO “Garden of Memory” and VOD “Forest Volunteers” with the support of the Presidential Grants Fund. The partners of the Save the Forest campaigns are Rosatom State Corporation and Sberbank.
