The trip was organized in the framework of the International Educational Program EUROFORESTER on demand of St. Petersburg State Forest Engineering University named after S.M. Kirov for the governing bodies of the Ministry to familiarize teachers and students of forest educational establishments of the Western Europe with forestry management in the Republic of Tatarstan as a leading region in various directions.

Deputy Minister Kharis Musin and Rais Gumerov welcomed the European group at the Ministry, and heads of specialized departments responded to students’ questions.

In late afternoon they visited forest areas and the nursery of Prigorodnoe forestry. Visit of Saby forestry and Lubyany Forest Engineering College are on the agenda.

Large-scale projects in the field of forestry can’t be implemented without a complex of forest accounting and forest management measures of the Ministry’s chief information resource.         First Deputy Minister Kharis Musin chaired the meeting. Experts of the Ministry and Kazan Subsidiary of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise “Roslesinforg” were present at the meeting.

Kazan expedition of the subsidiary of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise “Roslesinforg”, “Povolzhsky lesproject”, elaborated a Forest Plan of the Republic of Tatarstan. Today, forest management is required due to implementation of a large-scale investment project of a Turkish company “Kastamonu Integre Wood Industry” engaged in wood processing in the special economic zone “Alabuga”. It won’t be possible to implement this project if forest management work isn’t carried out as soon as possible, and forests can lose their protective and other functions. These tasks can be solved only if the efforts of Kazan subsidiary of Roslesinforg and the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan are joined.

Before spring inaccessibility, wood procurement for the plant “Kastamonu Integre Wood Industry” is forced at establishments of the Ministry.

Piles of procured wood can be seen on the territory of the State Public Establishment “Privolzhskoe Forestry” and adjoining public-access roads. In 2015, the State Public Establishment “Privolzhskoe Forestry” plans to procure and deliver to the plant 10,000 cubic meters of wood, while at present, all in all,  3,877 cubic meters have already been delivered. Wood is procured only on the plots assigned for cutting by the forest management regulations and requiring sanitary cutting in compliance with adjustment plans of sanitary and corrective measures approved of by the Ministry.

It is planned to plant young forest on the areas of clear-cut harvesting.

The Minister brought to notice of head-foresters and experts that this year conditions of the Ministry’s work would be changed – it is necessary to implement measures aimed at optimization of fulfillment of delegated powers. Moreover, we can expect early spring, that’s’ why we might need to make amendments to production plans related to wood procurement and prevention of forest fires.

A year and a half ago, the World Summer Universiade took place in Kazan.  The President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin instituted a commemorative medal of “The XXVII (2013) World Summer Unversiade”.

In order for the Universiade to be held properly and at an adequate level, fellow workers of the forestry field and experts of the Ministry made their contribution. They restored wooden architecture facilities in the Staro-Tatarstaya Sloboda, worked at the stadium “Kazan-Arena” and greened up the Universiade village and sports facilities.

The Minister expressed his gratitude to those who had been awarded, and then he delivered prizes.

The ownership of the Forest Engineering College was assigned to the Republic of Tatarstan as of January 1, 2012. Its material and technical base is enforced with active support of the government of the Republic: forest plots of more than 10 thousand hectares in area, a “Komatsu” harvester and forwarder, modern wood processing equipment, and a computer class were given to the college.

All the conditions meant for education and comfortable living of students were created at the college.

On March 15th, Almas Nazirov opened a student canteen after capital repairs and expressed his gratitude to constructors of “Stroykom” LLC having awarded the Director Vadim Akhatov with the Ministry’s Certificate of Merit.
