The working day at the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan started with planting of a memorial birch near the administrative building.  The invited veterans of forestry laid flowers to the portrait sculpture of the First Minister of Forestry of the Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic, Alexander Gulyaev, a participant of the Great Patriotic War who fought as part of the Black Sea Fleet and was awarded for military achievements with various National awards.

The veterans were greeted by the Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan, Nail Magdeev – in the course of a tea-party he told about his recent visit to the Republic of Crimea where memorial parkways were established just before the Victory Day. Foresters of two Republics participated in them, which became the symbol of imperishable unification and cooperation between the peoples of Russia.

About ten thousand citizens of Agryz participated in the Great Patriotic War. By far not everyone was destined to come back to the native land. More than six thousand soldiers were to rest forever on the battlefields. A new generation of citizens, i.e. more than 200 people, pupils of the school forestry and pupils of secondary educational establishments of Agryz established the parkway in their memory using seedlings of pine, birch and linden.  Just before the Victory Day, they planted 1,186 pieces of the planting material.

All seedlings were prepared by the efforts of fellow workers of the State Public Establishment “Agryz Forestry”, while the foresters themselves took active part in the planting process. Next year the green memorial rotation will be continued to coincide with the Anniversary of the Great Victory - 70 new trees will augment each parkway.

After memorial seedlings from the Republic of Tatarstan have been planted in Bakhchisaray, Director of the State company “Bakhchisaray forestry” (the Republic of Crimea) Anatoly Kharchuk and Head-forester of the State Public Establishment “Prigorodnoe forestry” (the Republic of Tatarstan) Ilnur Kashafeev signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of forest restoration and forest cultivation. The Minister of forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan, Nail Magdeev, the First Deputy Minister Kharis Musin and their colleagues from Crimea were present in the course of signing of the agreement.

In the framework of signing of the agreement on cooperation and economic interaction between two regions – the Republic of Tatarstan and the Republic of Crimea -   the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan sent planting material to Bakhchisaray and Bakhchisaray district including blue spruce, European spruce, mountain pine, birch, ash, oak, and larch. Just before that, the public utility company of Bakhchisaray enterprise for beautification conducted works on removal of old and damaged trees and preparation of the territory for planting of seedlings received from Tatarstan. Pupils of Bakhchisaray vocational school of construction, architecture and design were of great help for municipal utility enterprises with regard to cleaning of the territory after the work has been completed. 

   On May 6, the parkway was established near the building of the district state administration of Bakhchisaray with participation of the Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan, N.G. Magdeev, Head of Bakhchisaray district of the Republic of Crimea, I.R. Umerov, Head of the Committee of Forest and Hunting Enterprise of the Republic of Crimea, I.I. Magdy. Internal flowerbeds of Bakhchisaray Municipal Council and garden square “Druzhba Narodov” (“Friendship of peoples”) were also decorated with new plants. The seeds including ball-rooted plants brought from Bakhchisaray district of the Crimea were planted in the Forest Selection and Seed Center of the Republic of Tatarstan and in basic forest nurseries in the framework of cooperation in the field of growing of the planting material. Future ball-rooted planting material will be used by foresters of the State company “Bakhchisaray forestry” in the course of events aimed at diversification of forestry vegetation this fall and in spring 2015.

The holiday “Day of birds” is among such events – it included lectures on the benefit of the birdkind, as well as contests of drawings and birdhouses. In the beginning of May foresters awarded the winners. Certificates of merit and gifts from Aznakaevo forestry were solemnly given to the most active pupils.

Menzelinsk municipal district is one of the largest districts of the Republic of Tatarstan with developed industry and agriculture. During the meeting with the Head of the District Administration, Aydar Salakhov, Head-forester of Menzelinsk forestry, Mirzanur Mingazov, reported on the readiness of the fire chemical station of the 2nd type and other forest protection services for the fire season, and he also reminded the officials of the Fire Safety Rules in forests.

The Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan, Nail Magdeev, conducted a meeting with heads of subordinate establishments on the territory of the Forest-Fire Center with regard to the readiness of forestries to the fire season. According to the Federal Forestry Agency, as of April 30, all in all, 154 forest fires were registered on the area of 85.2 thousand ha, the majority whereof (66 thousand ha) accounts for the Zabaikalye Territory. As it was earlier stated by the Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation, Sergey Donskoy, warm winter with little snow caused the fire season to start right after the New Year, and as it turned out, the majority of Russian regions weren’t ready for it. Moreover, during the holidays in May there is high risk of expansion of natural fires to the center of Russia and to the Volga Region.

The Operations Headquarters for protection of forests from fires was established in Tatarstan along with the Plan of organizational measures. Five powerful fire and chemical stations of the 3rd type equipped with modern fire-fighting equipment in Vysokaya Gora, Kaybitsy, Leninogorsk, Laishevo and Saby districts are available and ready for the season along with 18 fire and chemical stations of the 2nd type. Teams of the fire and chemical stations have been trained in accordance with the program “Tactics and methods of extinguishing of forest fires”.

 All automotive equipment used for terrestrial state surveillance in forests, including fire safety control in forestries, have been provided with fuel, 203 voluntary fire safety teams have been organized consisting of 609 people who will control forests in compliance with elaborated routes and approved schedules for patrolling of the forest fund.

   In May, it is planned to conduct training with regard to the drill of interaction of forces and means in the course of extinguishing of forest fires in Laishevo forestry. “Today, no forest fires have been registered on the territory of the Republic. Despite the fact that forest fires haven’t been registered for three years in a row, we have no reason to stay calm. Summer is expected to be rainless, so we have to be alerted: in 90 out of 100 cases forest fires are man-induced”, noted the Minister.

    The Forest-Fire Center of the Republic of Tatarstan, created in 2011, responsible for monitoring of fire hazard in forests, arranges extinguishing of forest fires and takes measures with regard to prevention of forest fires. By the beginning of the fire season of 2014, fellow workers of the Center have elaborated samples of posters and brochures aimed at explanation of the rules of human conduct in forests, avoidance of uncontrolled agricultural burning and other preventative measures. The means of visual propaganda of the Forest-Fire Center were acknowledged by experts including journalists of Republican media that participated in the Day of forest planting.

      The means of visual propaganda of the Forest-Fire Center of the Republic of Tatarstan will be distributed among the population of the Republic during the whole forest fire season.

In the Prigorodny forestry, on the territory of the Forest-fire center of the Republic of Tatarstan, 20 thousand seedlings of pines, fir trees, birches and other tree crops grown in forest nurseries of the state budgetary establishments “Archales”, “Mamadyshles”, “Privolzhskles”, as well as scientific-experimental Saby and Prigorodny forestries were solemnly dispatched. The Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan, Nail Magdeev, wished safe journey to the green cargo. The Minister himself will arrive in Bakhchisaray on May 5, when seedlings arrive there, and where memorable establishment of plants will also take place.

The seedlings will hit the road and cross a half of the territory of the Russian Federation by KAMAZ owned by the Forest transport company. The cargo will be accompanied by the Principal Adviser of the Forest Cultivation Department under the Ministry, Timur Galiev, who will have to ensure comfortable conditions for green nurslings – access of air and essential humidity.
