The Republican ecological and educational campaign “Unified ecological lesson” was held at every educational establishment of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Fellow workers of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan, workers of subordinate establishments and experts of nature reserves gave lectures for pupils of schools and nurseries. In order to teach the young generation careful attitude to nature and forests, contests of drawings were held, videos were demonstrated, and the most active pupils were awarded with diplomas.

Forest fires that started on the territory of the Russian Federation and the Volga Federal District were the main topic of the live broadcast interview of the Minister Nail Magdeev at the television company “Efir” along with the measures taken by the Ministry regarding their prevention on the territory of the forest fund of the Republic. Questions of the host Alexey Kuleshov also concerned reforestation conducted by the Ministry, preparation of timber and restoration of orthodox buildings for public worship. This was acknowledged today by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, during the opening of the Forum of orthodox community.

By the order of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, R.N. Minnikhanov, restoration of orthodox churches that suffered at the end of 2013 is envisaged at the establishments subordinate to the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan. Timber was prepared in winter, and blockhouses were constructed. To that end, the State Public Establishment “Kama Forestry” and the State Budgetary Establishment “Kama Forest” in Albaevo village of Mamadysh Municipal District finished and placed blockhouses for the alter and the extension to the main building of 3.5 m in height. A dome of the church has been placed, and the church has been roofed with roofing material. It is planned to put the facility into operation on July 12, 2014 on the holiday of the Kryashens, i.e Peter’s Day. 

The Minister started his speech before the journalists with statistics. As of May 13, 6,658 fires have been registered on the territory of Russia on the area of 727 thousand ha. In 2014, 91 fires were registered in the Volga Federal District on the territory of 87 ha in Bashkortostan, the Perm Territory, Nizhny Novgorod, Kirov and Ulyanovsk districts. Within the same period last year 72 fires were registered on the area of 59 ha. Nail Magdeev reminded of sad periodicity: every four years fires were registered on the territory of the forest fund of the Republic of Tatarstan due to dry summer. The Minister told about preventative measures aimed at prevention of forest fires.

   During the briefing the Minister summarized the results of the Day of forest planting that took place on April 26 and also told about his trip to Bakhchisaray, where memorable parkways were established consisting of seedlings brought from Tatarstan.

An expert of the nature reserve Tatyana Nikitina believes that it is during adolescence that ecological culture should be formed in order to teach children how to make personal decisions with regard to careful attitude to the environment. Addressing the pupils, she emphasized that only education can guarantee appropriate bundle of knowledge to make right decisions. A video “Ecology and culture is the future of Russia” was demonstrated to the pupils. Homeroom teacher, E.V. Chernova, along with biology teacher, N.V. Gafarova, arranged an exhibition of children’s drawings featuring nature right in the classroom. Experts of nature reserve presented books “Land charter in Tatarstan” and a volume of children’s pieces of work “Forest watch” to the pupils.

     Briefing of the Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan, Nail Magdeev, will start on May 13 at the Government House. The briefing is devoted to the start of fire season in forests of the Republic and preventive measures taken by the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The briefing will start at 10.00 am.

    The meeting with women, veteran workers who did the hard work on collective farm fields and treated the wounded at hospitals, was held in the village Laptevka of Tetyushi district. Head of the State Nature Public Reserve “Dolgaya Polyana”, V.P. Nikitin, spoke at the meeting and congratulated all citizens of the village with a favorite holiday of all the generations of the Russians – the Day of Victory in the Great Patriotic War; he also expressed his gratitude to those who defended the motherland and those who approached the victory in the rear.

Fellow workers of the State Establishment “Kaleykinskoe forestry” together with school forestry of Lesno-Kaleykinskaya secondary school participated in the meeting devoted to the 69th anniversary of the Victory Day celebration. A team of teachers and pupils of Lesno-Kaleykinskaya secondary school, staff of the Administration of Lesno-Kaleykinskoe rural settlement, representatives of “Yelkhovles” OOO, as well as veterans – former workers of the forestry participated in the meeting as well.

Wreaths and flowers were laid to the memorial of the participants of the Great Patriotic War.

The solemn meeting devoted to the 69th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet People in the Great Patriotic War was held on the Victory Square. Head of the district V.V. Makarov, Chairperson of the Council of Veterans of Agryz District R.F. Lutoshkina, and the Minister N.G Magdeev who read the greeting from the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov came to congratulate veterans and workers of the homefront, as well as all the citizens on this great holiday. 

Citizens laid live flowers and garlands to the Victory memorial. After that a large-scale solemn concert was held: people of all generations were dancing on the square to war songs.
