Illegal tree felling issues were discussed at the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan

In the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan a meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission on Prevention of Illegal Harvesting, Transportation, Processing, Sale and Export of Wood was held. A report on this topic was made by Emir Bedertdinov, First Deputy Minister of Forestry. Within the meeting, the preliminary results of the Lesovoz operation were summarized, as well as the efficiency of forest inspectors activities and performance of the 415-FZ were discussed. The First Deputy Minister noted that well-coordinated work in the field of forest violations can be achieved owing to the interagency cooperation of the Ministry of Forestry with law enforcement services and other departments. The Deputy Minister wished further fruitful work in the fight against illegal logging. Employees of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate and weight control were awarded with letters of gratitude for active cooperation. During the first quarter of 2018, during Lesovoz Operation, more than 2,000 vehicles were inspected, and 20 administrative protocols were compiled. In 2018, 41 cases of illegal logging were carried out, the volume of illegally harvested wood amounted to 155 cubic meters, the damage - more than 4000 rubles. Over the same period last year, 38 cases of illegal logging of forest plantations with a volume of 235 cubes were recorded.
