In Tatarstan, special attention is paid to improving the genetic pool of trees growing on the territory of the republic. For this purpose, 500 thousand pieces of common pine seedlings with improved hereditary properties were grown in the Forest Selection and Seed Center of Tatarstan this year. These seeds were collected from forest plantations, which are planted with plant material that has genetically improved properties. Seed sowing took place in March, seedlings successfully grew and as a planting material will be sent to different parts of the republic so that forest cultures with improved hereditary properties will replenish the forest fund of Tatarstan. In the future, the qualitative and quantitative indicators of these forest cultures will be much better.

Such work was carried out earlier in Kaibitskiy, Prigorodnyi and Zelenodolskiy forest districts. Now, at the initiative of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan, improved planting material will be distributed centrally to the forestry enyterprises.
