Specialists from State Public Institution “Leninogorskiy Forest District” visited schoolchildren of the Staro-Kuvakskiy secondary school of Leninogorskiy municipal district. Head and Forester Aleksandr Stepanov spoke with children about the history of emergence of forestry in Tatarstan, about the work of forestry and forestry specialists, who each day carry out a mission to preserve and augment the forest. At the end there was a fascinating lesson in the open air, during which foresters conducted a forestry workshop for schoolchildren - taught to measure the height of a tree with a special forest measuring device called the “altimeter”. Such meetings with schoolchildren in Leninogorskiy forestry are planned to be conducted on a permanent basis. “We want the children to know more about the forestry profession, to bring in them an interest in the forestry sector”, the foresters said.
