First lessons devoted to the International Day of Forests were held in Tatarstan

Tomorrow, on March 21, the International Day of Forests will be celebrated in the Republic of Tatarstan. This holiday was established by decision of the UN General Assembly on December 21, 2012. The main objective of the International Day of Forests is to draw public attention to the problem of forest conservation, to inform about the significance of the forest ecosystem, measures for its protection and restoration.

In the Republic of Tatarstan, from March 20 to March 22, lessons, round tables, presentations in general education and pre-school institutions, Open Day at the Lubyanskiy Forestry Engineering College, etc. will be held. In total, more than 100 events are planned.

Today, the first lessons devoted to the International Day of Forests were held in the Municipal Budgetary Educational Institution "Chuvash-Brodsky Secondary General Education School" of Alkeyevskiy district and Municipal Budgetary Educational Institution "Secondary General Education school No. 5" of Elabuzhskiy district. Within their framework, Lyudmila Zheltukhina, Deputy Head-Forester of the State Public Institution of the Republic of Tatarstan “Alkeyevskiy Forest District”, Alevtina Sogorina, Forest Protection Engineer, and Inna Leonova, Forest Master of SPI of RT “Ebulazhskiy Forest District” acquainted schoolchildren with the forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan and the role of forests in nature and human life.
