The bust of the First Minister of Forestry of the TASSR Aleksander Gulyayev was opened in Aksubayevskiy municipal district

A solemn event was held today in Aksubayevo settlement of Aksubayevsky municipal district, dedicated to the opening of the bust of the First Minister of Forestry of the TASSR, honored forester of the TASSR Aleksandr Aleksandrovich Gulyayev. President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Head of the Chuvash Republic Mikhail Ignatiev, Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan Ravil Kuzyurov and others took part in it.

Aleksandr Gulyaev - the successor of the forestry dynasty (grandfather and his three sons, including the father of Aleksandr Aleksandrovich, were foresters). As a head of forestry, Aleksandr Gulyayev worked for 25 years (from 1959 to 1984). Under his leadership, a significant breakthrough was made in development of forestry of the republic, the rational use of forest resources began, illegal logging was reduced, the number and extent of forest fires decreased.

President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov thanked all those who are at the solemn event on the opening of the bust Aleksandr Gulyayev. “I thank everyone who put his soul into the appearance of this memorable object”, he said.

According to the President of Tatarstan, the memory of our veterans is thus preserved.

Aleksandr Aleksandrovich Gulyayev began his career in Aksubayevskiy district. In 1946-1959 - work in Aksubayevsky forestry as a forest inspector, senior forester, then director.

In 1959-1979 – he was transferred to Kazan to the position of chief forest warden, then appointed as head of the Tatar Forestry Department.

In 1979-1984 - Minister of Forestry of the TASSR.

In 1984 – he was resigned, lived in Kazan.

He died on August 16, 1992, buried in the Arsk cemetery.

In 2013, a memorial bust of Aleksandr Gulyayev was installed in the foyer of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan.
