Voting on the national contest “The main tree of the country - the Russian tree of the year” continues at the site http://rosdrevo.ru/russian-tree-of-the-year/#. Among the nominees are 12 trees from Tatarstan, Chechnya, the Leningrad Region, Udmurtia, North Ossetia-Alania, Kalmykia, Irkutsk, Pskov, Rostov and Ivanovo Regions, from Tambov and Moscow.

The Siberian spruce (Picea obovata Ledeb.) growing on the territory of the state nature reserve of regional importance “Dolgaya Polyana” represents the Republic of Tatarstan This tree received the status of All-Russian significance “Tree - a monument of wildlife” in 2012. Age of spruce is 132 years, and height is more than 30 meters.
