On July 29-31, the 3rd Meeting of School Forest Districts of the Republic of Tatarstan will be held in the premises of Lubyanskiy Forestry Engineering College
From July 29 to July 31, 2019, the 3rd Meeting of School Forest Districts of the Republic of Tatarstan will be held in the premises of the State Budgetary Professional Educational Institution “Lubyanskiy Forestry Engineering College” in Lubyany village of Kukmorskiy municipal district. The event will be attended by 124 people from 31 school forest districts, and the whole gathering will bring together over 200 people. The “Lesnoi dozor” school forest district from Serovskiy district of the Sverdlovsk Region (Municipal Budgetary Educational Institution “General Education School of Filkino village) will also join the meeting.
On the first day of the meeting, schoolchildren will take part in the conference “Future of the Forests of Tatarstan is in our hands” and the ecological quest “Forest Pathfinders”. During the conference, students will present their research work in the sections “Forest and Man” (projects in the field of ecology, biology, forestry, etc.) and “Practical environmental activity” (projects in the field of improving the environmental situation in forestry, resource conservation, life safety, etc.). Within the framework of the “Forest Pathfinders” eco-quest, pupils of school forestry will tell about their associations and demonstrate their skills of orientation in the terrain.
The next day, on July 30, the official opening ceremony of the 3rd Meeting of School Forest Districts of the Republic of Tatarstan, as well as the main competition “Young Foresters” will be held. Here, the participants will have to undergo testing and perform a number of practical tasks in the areas of “Botany and Dendrology” (to determine the plant type by leaves and shoots, tree species and shrub type by seeds), “Taxation” (to find out diameter, height, age tree by eye and using tools), “Protection and Conservation of Forests” (to establish the type of bird, stem, conifer and leaf-gnawing forest pests in terms of appearance and living environment), “Reforestation and afforestation” (to demonstrate the basic methods and technologies of seedlings precipitation) “Surveying” (orienteering with compass) and “Fire fighting” (simulated fire extinguishing).
As well as workshops on art painting of spoons, basket weaving, wool sketching, wood carving and round tables for managers and curators of school forest districts on topic “School forest districts as a model of pre-profile training and specialized education or integrative system of additional environmental education in conditions of modern school” and “Prospects for development of school forest districts for 2020 - 2025” will be held on this day.
On the last day, on July 31, the results will be summed up and the winners of the 3rd Meeting of the School Forest Districts of the Republic of Tatarstan will be awarded.
