Ravil Kuzyurov spoke at a press conference on the progress in implementing the regional project “Forests Conservation in the Republic of Tatarstan”
Today, a press conference dedicated to implementation of the regional project “Forests Conservation in the Republic of Tatarstan” as part of the national project “Ecology” was held at the Tatar-inform Information Agency. The Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan Ravil Kuziurov spoke about the first results.
“Implementation of the regional project includes achievement of two targets. The first indicator is “the ratio of reforestation and afforestation to the area of felled and lost forest stands”. The design value of the indicator in 2019 is 62%. By 2024, it should reach 100%”, the Minister said.
According to him, this year, reforestation and afforestation work was carried out on the area of 2,471 hectares, including measures of artificial reforestation - on the area of 1,729 hectares, combined reforestation – on 34 hectares, promotion of natural reforestation - 542 hectares, afforestation - 165.7 hectares.
“Thus, today the ratio of reforestation and afforestation area to the area of felled and lost forest stands is 66%”, Ravil Kuziurov emphasized.
To carry out reforestation next year, it is planned to grow more than 30.3 million pieces of standard planting material and harvest more than 11.4 thousand kg of seeds of the main forest-forming species. As of August 13 of this year, 879 kg of seeds were collected (8% of the plan).
“The second indicator is called “forest fire damage over the years”. It is not established in a numerical value due to the fact that it is the result of a spontaneous, unpredictable natural phenomenon. This year, the fire hazard season in the republic started on April 15, the Minister said. - We overcame the hottest and most dangerous months - May and June - without emergency situations. In July, the 2nd and 3rd class of fire hazard was established. Nevertheless, we keep the situation under control”.
In order to detect and extinguish forest fires in the territory of the forest fund in Tatarstan, there are 18 chemical-chemical stations of type II at forestry enterprises and 5 fire-chemical stations of type III at the State Budgetary Institution “Forest Fire Center”. In the current year we plan to create and equip two FCS of type II on the territory of Nizhnekamskiy and Nurlatskiy municipal districts. The number of forest fire formations is 651 people, equipment - 319 units of various machinery. In case of emergency, additional involvement of forces and means of fire departments and organizations with a total number of 2,976 people is provided, which are equipped with 612 pieces of equipment.
“In general, in 2019, 86.8 million rubles were allocated to Tatarstan as part of the regional “Forests Conservation” project, including 49 million rubles for the purchase of equipment”, Ravil Kuziurov said.
These funds will be used to purchase 15 units of forestry equipment (10 forest planting machines, 3 cultivators, 2 forest plows) and 21 forest fire units (5 fire tankers, 4 universal forest fire complexes ULPK-4P, 4 portable motor-pumps, 3 small forest patrol complexes UAZ-390945, 2 VTG-100 bulldozers and 3 UAZ-2206 shift buses).
