Voting on the national contest “The Main Tree of the Country - Russian Tree of the Year” continues on the site http://rosdrevo.ru/russian-tree-of-the-year/#. 12 trees from Tatarstan, Chechnya, the Leningrad Region, Udmurtia, North Ossetia-Alania, Kalmykia, Irkutsk, Pskov, Rostov and Ivanovo Regions, from Tambov and Moscow are among the nominees.
The Republic of Tatarstan is represented by Siberian spruce (Picea obovata Ledeb.), which grows on the territory of the state natural reserve of regional significance of the complex profile “Dolgaya Polyana”. This tree received the status of All-Russian significance “Tree - a monument of wildlife” in 2012. The spruce is 132 years old, and its height is more than 30 meters.
