The environmental campaign “Forest Week - 2019” continues in Tatarstan
The Republican environmental campaign “Forest Week - 2019” was launched in Tatarstan on October 5 this year. Within its framework, forestry experts carry out planting of trees, cleaning the forest fund, improving rest areas in forests, installing nameplates and banners on fire and forest protection topics, collecting seeds of forest plants and conducting environmental lessons in educational institutions. Events will last until October 12.
A large-scale campaign was initiated in the forest fund of the Elabuzhskiy forest district. The events were attended by 385 people - employees of the State Public Institution of the Republic of Tatarstan “Elabuzhskiy Forest District”, State Budgetary Institution of the Republic of Tatarstan “Elabuzhskiy Forestry Enterprise”, executive committees of the cities of Elabuga, Mendeleyevsk and Naberezhnye Chelny, residents of the SEZ “Alabuga”, employees of Kastamonu Integrated Wood Industry LLC, representatives of educational institutions of higher and secondary vocational education. They planted 5.7 thousand pieces of planting material, about 15 cubic meters of solid municipal waste were collected and exported from the forest fund.
Today, in the framework of the campaign “Forest Week - 2019”, tree planting took place on the territory of State Public Institution “Social shelter for children and adolescents “Laska” in the Krasny Bor village of Agryzskiy municipal district. The District Forester of the Krasnoborskiy forestry Farid Nigmatullin and the guys from the shelter “Laska” planted 50 seedlings of spirea.
Students of Lubyanskiy Forestry Engineering College today took part in cleaning up the territory of the forest fund of Lubyanskiy forest district and collecting forest seed. In total, they collected 7 cubic meters of household waste, 50 kg of pine cones and 14 kg of fruits of various decorative species.
The Head-Forester of the State Public Institution of the Republic of Tatarstan “Isleitarskiy Forest District” Fanis Garifullin conducted a lesson on topic “Protect the forest” for pupils of the 5th grade of Vysokogorskaya secondary school No. 3. During the lesson, he introduced schoolchildren to the state of forestry in the Republic of Tatarstan and the ongoing work to conserve and increase forest resources.
The Republican environmental campaign “Forest Week” has been carried out by the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan since 2017. Its purpose is to foster respect for the forest, to draw public attention to the problems of conservation, reproduction and increase of forest resources. Last year, more than 20 thousand people became participants in the campaign; commemorative planting, alleys and new forest plantations were created on the area of 300 hectares in the republic, more than 1.1 thousand cubic meters of solid household waste and deadwood were removed from the forest fund.
