International campaign “Garden of Remembrance” will take place in the Russian Federation

On March 18, 2020, the International “Garden of Remembrance” campaign dedicated to perpetuating the memory of citizens who gave their lives for their homeland during the years of World War II will be launched in the Russian Federation. Its organizers are the All-Russian Public Movement “Victory Volunteers” and the Victory Commemoration Fund with support of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation and the Federal Forestry Agency.

As part of the campaign, tree planting will take place in hero cities, cities of military glory, regional centers, both within the city boundaries in city parks, squares, alleys, and in the forest fund. More than 1,500 forest districts will take part in the “Garden of Remembrance” campaign. All in all, about 10,000 sites have been prepared all over the country and in neighboring countries. The first tree planting will be held March 18 in Sevastopol, the event will end on June 22.

To take part in the campaign, just go to the website, select your region, click on the nearest planting point and find out the date, time and contact details. Next, you need to arrive at the place on the appointed day, the entire inventory will be provided by the organizers. 

If the planting date due to climatic conditions has not yet been determined, then you can leave your email address on the site, to which you will receive a notification about the readiness of the selected site with further instructions. It should be noted that in the Republic of Tatarstan the campaign is planned in late April of this year.

In total, within the framework of the campaign, it is planned to plant a tree in honor of each of the 27 million victims in the Great Patriotic War. Each tree planted is a symbol of life given for the Motherland, it is a gratitude for the peace conquered by such a sacrifice.
