Forestry Department of the Volga Federal District discussed the progress of forest cultivation, forest protection and forestry operations

Today, a videoconference meeting on the issues of forest cultivation, forest protection and forestry operations in 2020 was held in the Forestry Department of the Volga Federal District. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Head of Department Sergei Kovalev.

The event was attended by representatives of forestry authorities of the Volga Federal District, incl. from the Republic of Tatarstan - First Deputy Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan Ilgizar Zaripov, Head of the Department of Leasing Relations of the Ministry Fanil Akhmadullin, Acting Head of the Department of the State Forest Register, Forest Use and Forest Management Ramil Gilmanshin etc.

During the meeting, issues related to implementation of reforestation and afforestation, sanitary and recreational activities in the regions of the Volga Federal District in the current year, organization of forest use and interaction with public organizations in matters of forest conservation, protection and reproduction were discussed.

Let us recall that in the Republic of Tatarstan, the spring forestry season of 2020 has already been completed. Within its framework, employees of subordinate institutions of the Ministry carried out reforestation works on the area of 2254.8 hectares, including planting of forest crops - on 2152.2 ha, afforestation - on 102.6 ha. Also, protective forest stands were planted on the area of 1,934 hectares, forest crops were supplemented on the area of 2,578 hectares, and seeds were sown in forest nurseries on 18 hectares.

In the summer and autumn periods, natural reforestation, combined reforestation, agrotechnical care of forest crops, removal of deadwood and selective felling in field-protecting forest stands, seed harvesting of the main forest-forming species, supplementing of forest crops and preparing the soil for next year crops will be carried out.
