Operation “Spruce” starts in Tatarstan on December 20

In the period from 20 to 31 December 2020, the Republic of Tatarstan will host an operational and preventive event “Spruce”. Within its framework, systematic patrolling of forest areas with a predominance of coniferous stands will be organized.

“At present, the Ministry is completing the formation of mobile patrol groups from among the state forest inspectors and employees of the territorial departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Republic of Tatarstan, said Airat Akhmerov, head of the department of state control and supervision of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan. Last year, 144 mobile patrol groups were created as part of Operation Spruce and more than 365 raids were carried out. At the same time, 12 facts of illegal harvesting of spruce were revealed.”

Recall that illegal felling, damage to forest plantations or unauthorized digging of trees in forests entails the imposition of an administrative fine on citizens in the amount of 3 to 4 thousand rubles, on officials from 20 to 40 thousand rubles, on legal entities from 200 to 300 thousand rubles. In addition, a person who has committed illegal felling will have to compensate for the damage caused to forests, which depends on the species of the felled tree and the place of its growth, the category of forest protection.
