The spring forestry season continues in the Republic of Tatarstan. According to specialists from the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan, as of May 5 of this year, reforestation work has been carried out on an area of 1304 hectares. Including planting of forest cultures was carried out on an area of 1214 hectares, afforestation - on 90 hectares.
Let us remind that in total this year in the republic under the regional project “Preservation of forests in the Republic of Tatarstan” of the national project “Ecology” reforestation works will be carried out on an area of 3855 hectares.
Along with this, other events are held in Tatarstan within the framework of the forestry season. Thus, work on the establishment of ravine and ravine forest plantations was carried out on an area of 1251 hectares, and the addition of forest crops - on 1540 hectares.
“In addition to the measures provided for by the state order, the establishment of protective forest plantations in the Aznakayevsky region continues as part of the compensation of greenhouse gas emissions. To date, such plantings have been created on an area of 1,129 hectares,” the department of forest reproduction and afforestation of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan said.

The regional project “Preservation of forests in the Republic of Tatarstan” within the framework of the federal project “Preservation of forests” of the national project “Ecology” began to be implemented in 2019. Its main goal is to ensure a balance of forest depletion and reproduction in a ratio of 100% by 2024. To achieve this goal, 2 target indicators have been established: “the ratio of the area of reforestation and afforestation to the area of cut and dead forest stands, %” and “damage from forest fires, million rubles”. At the end of 2020, the values of the indicators amounted to 179% and 0 rubles, respectively.
