In all forestries of the republic the works to create the “heaps of snow” for planting material storage during the spring have been carried out. This planting material will fully meet the demands of the municipalities of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The preparatory work is carried out in the base forest nurseries as well. One of the important events is snow blackening. The ash or peat is dispersed beneath the seeds to accelerate the snow melting and prevent the spread of such seedling diseases as pine-leaf cast. Moreover, the nursery workers put the seeds of the main forest-forming species for stratification, for adaptation to the soil and climatic conditions of the collected seeds.

The birds bring great positive results to forest. First of all, they are the right hands for people in extermination of pests of forest plantations. And forest without chirm and songs of birds is half-dead. In winter it is silent, but soon it will be awakened by cheerful twittering of finches and flycatchers, whistle of thrushes and orioles.

The workers of Menzelinsky Forestry, not waiting for April 1 when the International Day of Birds is celebrated, together with teachers of the school №1 of Menzelinsk organized the birdhouses making. The forest near Lesnoy Spring was selected as the place where the birdhouses would be hung. Soon the starlings, tits and wood pigeons that live in the local forests will move to new houses. What a pleasure to wake up in the morning and hear the gentle bird whistling, think that in the world there are still little wizards that connect us with nature, singing to the glory of spring, life and love!
