Very soon spring reforestation works will start in the forests. As a preparation, in each district forestry on the territory of forest nurseries and silvicultural areas the “snow piles” for temporary storage of planting stock are collected. The ice-boxes are usually organized in close proximity to areas of plantation that allows not using the transport and wasting valuable spring time for planting stock transportation.

In addition, it was recommended to the staff of the Ministry to lay down the seeds of forest plantations for the stratification for their preparation for sowing. During stratification the seeds are placed for a while in a cold and moist environment that simulates the natural process that now occurs in nature when the seeds are on the soil under the snow.

At the meeting the issues of the financial and economic activities of the institutions and occupational safety issues were discussed.

One of the main instructions given within the minutes of the alignment meeting is an ensuring a daily wood harvesting and supply to the plant of OOO “Kastamonu Integrated Wood Industry” and the introduction of the Unified State Automated Information System in all subordinated institutions. In addition, it was instructed to expand the activities of forest establishments both in the production of consumer goods and in the creation of new jobs.

Man comes to the starved animals’ help. So, within a week the inspectors of the Baltasinsky Nature Sanctuary in cooperation with the inspector of the Office for the Protection and Use of Wildlife Objects of the Republic of Tatarstan for the Baltasinsky District filled up the feeding stations with 650 kg of barley provided by the Limited Liability Company named after Tukay and OOO Azyk.

At year-end 2015 the Ministry has carried out the work on the collection and analysis of information on the creation of new and reconstruction of old parks and garden squares in the municipalities of the republic. According to the inventory, in 2015 in Kazan 32 new urban parks 146 hectares in area were laid down, such public entertainment places as the green area on the Lebyazhye Lake, garden square behind the Mir cinema, the Kryliya Sovetov Park, the garden square in the Sovetskaya Square, garden square at the intersection of Daurskaya and Karbyshev streets were restored; the Fame Garden Square and the Pobedy Park were renovated. The special emphasis was put to the origin and quality of planting stock. For landscaping, the species growing in our soil and cultivated in the local forest nurseries were used. Such species are small-leaved linden, mountain ash, silver birch, blue spruce, pine, Norway maple, poplar (balsamic, pyramidal and hybrid No.38 with no fluff). Among the shrubs there are lilac, acacia, barberry, spiraea, brier, japonica, bird cherry, cranberry, wild apple and others. The trees and shrubs used for creation of parks and garden squares are resistant to smoke and gases, and at the same time have high decorative properties. When choosing one or another species, such factors as frost resistance, durability, high tolerability of cutting, rapid growth and crown density were taken into account.

In 2016 the Ministry will continue to update information and inventory of parks and garden squares on the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The 7th grade pupils of the Baltasinsky Secondary School together with the inspectors of the Baltasinsky Nature Sanctuary have made feeders and birdhouses; the Certificates of Merit were awarded to most active pupils.

Now, every morning, the schoolchildren come to visit the bird eating-houses to not let the feeders be empty.

The traditional mass cross-country skiing, the Russian Ski Track 2016, was held in 72 Russian cities. The hundreds of natives of Kazan toed the starting line of the largest winter sports event held on Sunday at the camp”Solnechny” in the Zalesny village. The team of the Ministry of Forestry of Tatarstan, headed by the Deputy Minister Rais Gumerov, was one of the participants. Niaz Imamiev, Ildar Khalilov, Aydar Gaifullin, Ramil Gilmanshin, Dmitry Zarifullin, Rail Gumarov and Albina Almieva joined the team.

The exhibition introduced by the organizations and institutions working in the municipal area was organized in the lobby of the Palace of Culture. The part telling about the activities of Kichke-Tan Nature Sanctuary was diverse and entertaining. The nature corner drew the attention of the Prime Minister of Tatarstan Ildar Khalikov, the Deputy of State Duma Timur Akulov, and other session participants and guests, who got acquainted with pleasure with herbs growing on the territory of the Sanctuary; they treated themselves with the gifts of nature and took pictures. The head of the Sanctuary, the Deputy of the District Council of the Agryzsky Municipal District Ahly Faizullin answered the questions.

Yu.Bikmullina told about the Ministry’ contribution to the greening of parks and garden squares of the republic, and about annual environmental campaign on tree planting. The pupils of the secondary school No.47 of the Sovetsky district of Kazan were fully engaged in the business game during which they discussed and defended their projects to create recreation areas for children in the parks.

The lesson was arranged under the republican project “Personnel reserve” implemented by the Regional Public Organization “Academy of Creative Youth of the Republic of Tatarstan” with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Cheap synthetic nets with small meshes, which are sold in the markets, “occupied” the rivers of Russia, as evidenced by the statistical reports of the public oversight authorities and the aquatic biological resources authorities. And the Republic of Tatarstan is not an exception. Over the last years, the inspectors of the state nature sanctuaries have taken away and destroyed more than a thousand illegal nets on the specially protected natural reservations of the Republic of Tatarstan.

In accordance with the Federal Law “On Seed Breeding” the institutions of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic carried out a common policy to ensure the forestry with seeds with high sowing qualities. In winter, the seed material (cones) of softwood is collected. Currently, more than 25 tons of cones have been harvested. In cone-driers the seeds are extracted from the cones, de-winged, cleaned from impurities and dried to the desired moisture content. More than 100 kg of softwood seeds have been processed.
