The Russian Congress of School Forestry Units which is held every two years will be held on October 5-8 in the Krasnodar Region at the premises of the All-Russian Children's Center “Eaglet”. Albina Grigorieva (Lubyanskoye School Forestry Unit), Anatoly Panov (Forest Watch School Forestry Unit of the Prigorodny Forestry) and Marat Shigabiev (Heirs of Nature of the Arsky Forestry) will represent Tatarstan.

It will be recalled that the first congress of young silviculturists was held in Kazan in 2011.

The students from school forestry units and ecological associations come to the silviculturists’ help. So, the pupils from the Gymnasium n.a. Nabi Dauli of the Alkeevsky Municipal District are actively involved in the activities for forest care. On one of the forest areas of Alkeevsky Forestry they collected and removed more than 8 cubic meters of municipal solid and other waste remained after summer holidays.

Autumn tree planting arranged by the Ministry will be held in two areas – on the territory of the Prigorodny Forestry near Kadyshevo village and near the forest area of Borovoye Matyushino. The Ministry addressed government agencies, departments, educational institutions with a request to support the event. The forestry workers will assist in planting and consulting. The planting will start at 9.00 a.m.

Xenia Sosnova is an excellent 9th grader of the Secondary School No.3 of Nurlat town, and she has already graduated from the art school. Within two years, she is not only a participant of environmental activities, but also an active initiator of many innovations. Her speech at the Republican Ecology Olympiad where Xenia told how such projects of the school forestry unit (the head –T.I.Chibidina) as the “Forest of Victory”, the “Walk of Memory”, the “Live, the Forest!” as well as the Rainbow project and the Clean Forests project are put into practice was highly appreciated by jury.

The young artist was at the head of a new project “Gift to the Forestry Establishment”. The ecology-related posters made by Xenia and other members of the school forestry unit and presented to the forestry establishment were placed in forest areas; they encourage population to protect forests from fires.

As part of the festival, the exhibition performance “Say No to Extremism” was held. 260 students took part in it. The festival featured the performances of students from the Center for Promotion of Patriotic and Sports Education of Young People from Kirov. They demonstrated their skill of various types of martial arts and presented an exhibition of modern weapons.

Despite dry windy weather, on agricultural lands, roadsides of highways, horticultural societies and on the shoreland of bodies of water, the dry grass, last year's stubble, straw and dry reeds are uncontrollably burnt.

In accordance with the Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan  No.194 “On Measures to Protect Forests from Fires in 2015” dated 28.03.2015 the state forest inspectors continue the policy for forest protection and wildfires prevention on the territory of Tatarstan until the end of fire season.

The professional holiday – the Forest Worker Day – was marked by the exhibition performance of Association for Promotion of Patriotic and Sports Education “Sons of Homeland” from the Kirov Region at the stadium of the Lubyansky Forest Engineering College. The event was dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

The athletes of Association were welcomed by the Director Afanasiy Danilov who emphasized that such performance where the well-honed skills, agility, quick reaction, weapons skill of 16-17 years old teenagers are demonstrated, need to promote patriotic education, healthy lifestyle of college students. On behalf of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan the Head of the Civil Service and Personnel Department Airat Akhmerov thanked the guests. He congratulated the teaching personnel and students of the college on the professional holiday, and addressing to the athletes, he noted that the protection of the forest means the protection of the homeland, and together we make contribution to the common cause.

On September 18-19, 2015 the 3rd Russian Logging Championship “Logger 2015” has been held at Kazan Arena stadium. The organizers of the championship were the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Russian Union of Timber Industrialists and Exporters, Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan, JSC “Centerlesexpo” and JSC “Kazanskaya Yarmarka”. The Russian competitions were hold in strict compliance with the requirements of International Association of Logging Championships.

Among participants of the national championship there were loggers with chain saws and logging machine operators from 26 regions of Russia and the Republic of Belarus. The participants of the Championship “Logger 2015” competed in tree felling, fitting another chain, bucking with combined cuts, precision bucking, limbing and relay. The loggers of the Republic of Karelia retained champion title. The team of the Republic of Tatarstan came second, and the team of the Republic of Chuvashia came third. However, the logger of the Nurlatsky Forest Establishment of the Republic of Tatarstan Oleg Alexeev has enjoyed the privilege to set a world record in Tree Felling by Chainsaw. The winners of the 3rd Russian Logging Championship “Logger 2015” will be included in the Russian national team to represent Russia at the World Logging Championship in Poland in 2016.

Kazan has filed an application for the right to represent Russia as a candidate country to host the World Logging Championship in 2018. If the application is approved, the capital of Tatarstan will have a chance to take the world logging championship in 2018 at venue of the International Convention and Exhibition Centre Kazan Expo that now is under construction in the vicinity of Kazan airport.

Acting First Deputy Prime Minister of Tatarstan Alexey Pesoshin, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology – Head of the Federal Forestry Agency Ivan Valentik, President of the Russian Union of Timber Industrialists and Exporters Miron Tatsyun and Acting Minister of Forestry of Tatarstan Almas Nazirov took part in the ceremony of the best republican forest worker lovefest.

 “This year so happened that the Russian Logging Championship “Logger 2015” dovetails with the Feast of Forest. I congratulate you on this feast and that we combined these two events so pleasantly,” said Alexey Pesoshin in his opening speech.

 According to him, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and Tatarstan Government pay great attention to the development of the sector and support it in its efforts for reforestation. As an example of this may serve the opening of Europe's largest forest breeding and seed center for cultivation of 12 million seedlings per year. This is not the first season the wildfires have kept away from the republic. “I hope that this trend will continue in the future. Together we will make every effort for this,” said Acting Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan.

He also reminded of the invaluable contribution of the industry veterans to the development of forestry of Tatarstan, as well as of the importance of the work carried out today with the younger generation in school forestry units.

 In turn, the Head of the Federal Forestry Agency noted that the forest industry in Tatarstan has been always paid great attention.

 “It is no coincidence that the republic became the venue of the Russian Logging Championship. I believe that the republic made every effort for the development of forestry and that the profession – forester, forest worker – is becoming even more attractive,” said Ivan Valentik. “The forest is our national heritage, and Tatarstan is very respectful of that heritage.”

 After congratulating representatives, forest workers of the republic on their professional holiday the guests of honor awarded the most distinguished experts.

So, Acting Minister of Forestry of Tatarstan Almas Nazirov and engineer for reforestation of Kaleykinskiy Forestry Mimosa Timerbaeva were awarded by the lapel pins “Honorary Forest Worker”. Also the certificates of appreciation were presented and honorary titles of “Honored Forester of the Republic of Tatarstan” were awarded.

After that, Alexey Pesoshin presented the Ministry of Forestry of Tatarstan headed by Almas Nazirov to celebrate the holiday with the huge key as a symbol of the real keys from 31 Niva cars for execution of direct professional duties in the service of forest.

At the end of the event there was a celebratory dinner and a concert.

Today the Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov met with the Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation – Head of the Federal Forestry Agency Ivan Valentik. The meeting was held in the Government House of the Republic of Tatarstan. Among participants there were also the Tatarstan Minister of Forestry Almas Nazirov, the deputy of the State Duma Fatih Sibagatullin and others.

In the course of the talks the parties discussed the development of the forestry sector in the Republic of Tatarstan. They reviewed the package of measures for conservation, protection and reproduction of forest.

Following the meeting, the Head of the Federal Forestry Agency of Russia Ivan Valentik encharged industry specific authorities with some tasks and supported the certain proposals of Tatarstan in the field of forestry.
