            The Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan, N. Magdeev, met with the coordinator of the project of the UNIDO Centre for International Industrial Co-operation, Boris Melnichuk, and the representative of the company BCC Plant the Planet (Sweden), Andreas Berner. The matters regarding cooperation in forest reproduction on the territory of the Republic and participation of Swedish experts in the project of construction of the Scientific and Production Center “Oak wood of Russia” were discussed during the working meeting.

       Operation Headquarters for protection of forests from fires was approved of at the Ministry of Forestry along with the Plan of organizational measures. Five powerful fire safety and chemical stations of the 3rd type in Vysokogorsk, Kaybitsy, Leninogorsk, Laishevo and Saby districts, as well as 18 fire safety and chemical stations of the 2nd type are all set for the season.  Teams of the fire safety and chemical stations were trained according to the program “Tactics and technique for extinguishing of forest fires”.

        All automotive equipment that carries out terrestrial state surveillance including fire safety control in forests is provided with fuel; 203 volunteer fire brigades were organized comprising 609 people who will control forests with regard to elaborated itineraries and approved schedules of patrolling of the forest fund.

        It is planned to conduct training with regard to the drill of cohesion of forces and means in the course of extinguishing of forest fires in one of the forestries of the Republic.

Fellow workers of the forestry visited schools in Aznakaevo, urban-type settlement Aktyubinsky and rural schools, they told about the importance of forests in ecology, what damage can be inflicted on the forest by inadequate human behavior, and they invited the children to help foresters and participate in the campaign “Clean forests of Tatarstan” that was started on the territory of the Republic.

          Pupils of Kakre-elginskaya rural school along with fellow workers of Aznakaevo forestry arranged artificial nestings along forest belts. The contest of children’s drawings “I draw forest” was held at the nursery of urban-type settlement Aktyubinsky.

Pupils from various districts and cities of Tatarstan and Ulyanovsk Region came to Nizhnekamsk. The members of school forestry “Lesnoy Dozor” located at the Municipal Budgetary Educational Establishment “Tatarsko-Burnashevskaya School” under the State Public Establishment “Volga Forestry” took part in the festival. All the pupils were shortlisted and invited to the intramural stage of contest.  Ekaterina Titova and Viktoriya Lavonina participated in the section “Bioindication” with a research work “Comparative analysis of the samples of plants for accumulation of salts of heavy metals. Young foresters were rated the first in their sections. They were awarded with first place diplomas and valuable prizes.
