In 2022, it is planned to carry out reforestation in the Republic of Tatarstan on an area of 3.6 thousand hectares. The work will be carried out within the framework of the regional project “Preservation of forests in the Republic of Tatarstan” of the federal project “Preservation of forests” of the national project “Ecology”. Of these, forest crops will be planted on an area of 1.4 thousand hectares, natural reforestation - on 2.1 thousand hectares, combined reforestation - 4 hectares, and afforestation - 104 hectares.
Also, specialists of the forest industry will carry out work on agrotechnical care of forest crops on an area of 13.5 thousand hectares, the addition of forest crops - on 4 thousand hectares, sowing seeds in basic forest nurseries - on 21 hectares.
“Ensuring the high-quality implementation of reforestation work in the forest fund of the republic is one of our main tasks for 2022,” said the Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan Ravil Kuzyurov. “For its implementation last year, 34.1 million pieces of standard planting material were grown in nurseries. This amount will be enough not only for reforestation but also for laying protective forest plantations.”

The regional project “Preservation of forests in the Republic of Tatarstan” within the framework of the federal project “Preservation of forests” of the national project “Ecology” began to be implemented in 2019. Its main goal is to ensure a balance of disposal and reproduction of forests in the ratio of 100% by 2024. To achieve this goal, 2 target indicators have been set: “the ratio of the area of reforestation and afforestation to the area of cutting down and dead forest plantations, %” and “damage from forest fires, million rubles”.
