Ravil Kuzyurov made a presentation at a meeting of the Commission for the Prevention and Elimination of Emergency Situations and Ensuring Fire Safety

Today, the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan hosted a meeting of the Commission for the Prevention and Elimination of Emergency Situations and Ensuring Fire Safety of the Republic of Tatarstan. The meeting was chaired by the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Nigmatullin, the Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan Ravil Kuzyurov, the Minister for Civil Defense and Emergency Situations of the Republic of Tatarstan - the head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Republic of Tatarstan Rafis Khabibullin, representatives of executive authorities and organizations, chairmen and members of commissions of municipal districts of the republic.

At the meeting, the Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan Ravil Kuzyurov made a report. He spoke about the results of the fire season in the forests of 2021 and the planned measures to protect forests from fires for 2022.

The minister recalled that last year 26 forest fires were recorded on the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan on an area of 224.23 hectares, of which 7 were on lands of protected areas and other categories. “Including 16 forest fires occurred in the south-east of the republic due to a large technogenic load on forests,” he said. “Thanks to the measures taken, all forest fires were localized and eliminated as soon as possible, for which I would like to say a huge thank you to the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Republic of Tatarstan, administrations of municipal districts, organizations, enterprises and, separately, employees of oil companies.”

In preparation for the fire season in the forests of 2022, a Consolidated plan for extinguishing forest fires on the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan was developed, all forest fire stations and fire equipment concentration points were checked, ground patrol routes for the forest fund were approved, forest fire formations and mobile fire extinguishing teams were formed.

“Meetings and videoconferences were also held on the protection of forests from fires in each municipal district of the Republic of Tatarstan. At such meetings, issues of fire prevention measures, forest fire propaganda, interagency cooperation in the event of a forest fire or other emergency were discussed,” Ravil Kuzyurov informed. “Along with this, a contract was signed for the provision of services for air patrolling the forest fund. The number of scheduled flight hours is 269, which is 1.4 times more than last year.”

Fire safety in the forests is provided by 20 forest fire stations of the second type as part of the State Budgetary Institution of the Republic of Tatarstan “Leskhoz”, 5 forest fire stations of the third type as part of the State Budgetary Institution of the Republic of Tatarstan “Forest Fire Center” and 14 points of concentration of fire fighting equipment. All of them are equipped with the necessary machinery, equipment, inventory, and other means of preventing and extinguishing forest fires.

“At the end of March, the Department of Forestry for the Volga Federal District inspected the activities of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan and its subordinate institutions. According to its results, the Ministry was assessed as ready for the fire season of 2022,” concluded Ravil Kuzyurov.
