Voting continues as part of the Russian Tree of the Year 2022 contest

Voting continues on the website http://rosdrevo.ru/russian-tree-of-the-year/# as part of the Russian Tree of the Year 2022 contest. The Republic of Tatarstan is represented by the Siberian spruce (Picea obovata Ledeb.), which grows on the territory of the Dolgaya Polyana state natural reserve of regional significance of the complex profile. This tree received the status of all-Russian significance “Tree - a monument of wildlife” in 2012. The spruce is 135 years old and over 30 meters high.

The historical tree grows near the estate of the nobles of the Molostvovs. This estate was visited by war heroes, governors, musicians and famous scientists. The Molostvovs were friends with Zhukovsky, Pushkin, Dahl, Baratynsky, Tolstoy, Gorky, and even Goethe. According to the MBU “Museum of the History of the Tetyush Region”, the spruce was planted by German Vladimirovich Molostvov in 1887 for the 30th anniversary of his married life with Antonina Tavrionovna.

Voting will last until August 1 this year. Competitive number of spruce from the Republic of Tatarstan - 49.

Recall that the competition “Russian Tree of the Year” has been held since 2017. The competition is attended by amazing natural rarities that grow in different regions and are the natural, cultural, historical, spiritual heritage of Russia.
