In the Forest Selection and Seed Center of the Republic of Tatarstan, work is underway to sow the second rotation of seeds of coniferous species within the framework of the regional project “Preservation of forests in the Republic of Tatarstan” of the federal project “Preservation of forests” of the national project “Ecology”.
“We plan to complete the work this week. In total, 4 million pine and larch seeds will be sown,” said Azat Zinnatullin, director of the center. “The total production capacity of the center is 12 million pieces of standard planting material with a closed root system per year. According to the technology, we first grow seedlings in greenhouses, and then we take them to the growing fields. Now seedlings of the first rotation are gaining strength in the fields. Their condition is assessed as good”.
Recall that the production of standard planting material is an additional indicator of the regional project “Preservation of Forests” of the national project “Ecology”. In total, this year it is necessary to grow at least 30.9 million seedlings.
