Today, the Ministry held a discussion of a project to create a digital database of the forest fund of the Republic of Tatarstan. The meeting was chaired by the First Deputy Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan Ilgizar Zaripov. Ramil Gilmanshin, Head of the State Forest Registry, Forest Use and Inventory Department, Fanil Akhmadullin, Head of the Lease Relations Department, and representatives of the InnoGeoTech company (Innopolis SEZ) also took part in the meeting.

The meeting reviewed the progress of the work of the first stage of the project, within the framework of which the boundaries of the quarterly and allocated network of forestries of the Republic of Tatarstan were brought into line with the established boundaries of forestries.

The creation of a legally significant database and a digital map of the lands of the forest fund of the Republic of Tatarstan is designed to solve several urgent problems of the region's industry at once. Thus, the project is aimed at further development of activities for the use, conservation and protection of forests. In addition, information support is an integral part of the creation of a regional forest management system (RSFM) of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The project executing company, InnoGeoTech LLC, was established in 2017 by Innopolis University together with RVC JSC to develop and pilot the Digital Model of the Republic of Tatarstan (DMRT) project as part of the Aeronet roadmap plan of the National Technology Initiative. In addition to the forestry industry, the company is also engaged in the creation of solutions for digital agriculture, territory management, and the creation of digital twins of cities and other spaces.
