Kazan city school children took on the role of forest fire-fighters

The foresters conducted an excursion devoted to fire safety in forests for school children in the premises of Municipal budgetary institution of additional education “Children’s activity center “Tankodrom” in Sovetskiy district of the city of Kazan. Children of the 1-4 forms of summer camp of school No 86 in Sovetskiy district of the city of Kazan took part in the event. 

Children’s activity center “Tankodrom” – is a multidisciplinary institution of additional education. One of the activity lines of the institution – is schoolchildren environmental education and upbringing. More than 30 environmental associations are functioning in the premises of the center, seizing more than 1000 children of the age of 7-18 years. Young ecologists are actively engaged in environmental activities, they plant trees, make and hang birdhouses, take part in ecological clean-up events. The pupils of the eco-center enhance the prestige of the educational institution, taking prizes at regional, all-Russian, international ecological Olympiads, competitions, conferences: All-Russian Olympiad of schoolchildren in ecology, All-Russian competitions "Young environmental researchers", "Biotope" and many others.

 Graduates of the eco-center continue their education in profile universities. According to the center’s work schedule with the school camps of the Tankodrom micro-district, this week is devoted to environmental activities. Akhmerov Ayrat Fargatovich, Director of the forest fire service of the Republic of Tatarstan and a teacher of additional education concurrently, whose students have won the Republican Olympiad on Ecology, today held an event on fire safety, rules of behavior in the forest. He told the students about the causes of forest fires, firefighting ways and methods, priority actions in the event of forest fire.

Children took active part in the discussion, answered questions, shared opinions, for which they were awarded with memorable gifts. After theory, they went on to practice, during which the forestry workers acquainted the children with fire equipment, implements and a fire truck on the basis of the KAMAZ vehicle AC-3,0-40 (4326) 26VR.
