During the period from August 18 to August 20, in the territory of almost 70 regions of Russia, a high, in some places emergency, fire hazard in forests according to weather conditions is forecasted

According to the forecast data in the coming days (Aug. 18-20), including the weekend, high, in some places - extreme fire danger in the woods on the weather conditions are expected on the territory of: Lipetsk, Tambov, Voronezh, Belgorod, Kursk, Tver, Bryansk, Smolensk, Kaluga, Orel, Moscow, Vladimir, Ivanovo, Yaroslavl, Kostroma, Tula, Ryazan, Murmansk, Arkhangelsk, Novgorod, Vologda, Volgograd, Astrakhan, Rostov, Samara, Penza, Saratov, Orenburg, Ulyanovsk, Nizhniy Novgorod, Kirov, Tyumen, Chelyabinsk, Kurgan, Irkutsk, Tomsk, Omsk, Amur, Magadan and Sakhalin regions and the Republics of Komi, Kalmykia, Dagestan, Ingushetia, Adygeya, Crimea, Bashkortostan, Tatarstan, Mari El, Chuvashia, Udmurtia, Mordovia, Buryatia, Tyva, Altai and Sakha (Yakutia), Karachayevo-Cherkessian, Chechnya, Kabardino-Balkaria, Stavropol, Krasnodar, Trans-Baikal, Altai, Krasnoyarsk, Khabarovsk, Primorsk Territories, the Khanty-Mansiisk Autonomous District, Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District, Chukotka autonomous District.

Since the beginning of this week, 90 forest fires on the total area of more than 5.7 thousand hectares have been brought under control on the territory of Russia by firefighting services and involved people. On the localization and elimination of fires, more than 2 thousand people, more than 300 units of equipment were engaged daily, on monitoring and extinguishing - up to 15 aircrafts.

According to the situation by the beginning of the current day in Russia, work on active extinguishing of 70 forest fires on the area of 78.858 hectares was performed, among them:

• 20 fires on forest fund lands on the area of 71.433 hectares (the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia));

• 15 fires on the lands of the forest fund on the area of 3.709 hectares (Irkutsk region);

• 12 fires on the lands of the forest fund on the area of 1.347 hectares (Krasnoyarsk Territory);

• 12 fires on the lands of the forest fund on the area of 1.196 hectares (the Republic of Buryatia);

• 1 fire on forest fund lands on the area of 71 hectares (Amur Region);

• 1 fire on the lands of the forest fund on the area of 55 hectares (Arkhangelsk region);

• 1 fire on the lands of the forest fund on the area of 7 hectares (Tomsk region);

• 1 fire on the lands of the forest fund on the area of 3 hectares (Zabaykalsky Krai);

• 1 fire on the grounds of the forest fund on the area of 1 hectare (the Republic of Tyva);

• 1 fire on the lands of the forest fund on the area of 1 hectare (Yamalo-Nenets AO);

• 1 fire on the lands of specially protected natural areas on the area of 696 hectares (Krasnoyarsk Territory - Tungussky Gas Processing Plant);

• 4 fires on the lands of specially protected natural areas on the area of 339 hectares (Republic of Buryatia - NP "Zabaikalsky", GPBZ "Barguzinsky").

For the purposes of stabilization of forest fire situation the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) is provided with 101 air-defense PDPS of the Avialesookhrana, the Republic of Buryatia - 166 air-defense PDPS of the Avialesookhrana, the Irkutsk Region - 10 air-defense PDPS of the Avialesookhrana, and the Krasnoyarsk Territory - 20 air-defense PDPS of the Avialesookhrana.

Also in the distant unpopulated areas of Russia by the beginning of the current day, 165 forest fires were active on the area of 1,288.147 hectares, including:

• 88 fires on the area of 897.952 hectares (the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia));

• 50 fires on the area of 204.808 hectares (Irkutsk region);

• 22 fires on the area of 180.865 hectares (Krasnoyarsk Territory);

• 2 fires on an area of 1.946 hectares (the Republic of Buryatia);

• 2 fires on the area of 1.450 hectares (Khabarovsk Territory);

• 1 fire on the area of 1.126 hectares (Zabaykalsky Krai).

In accordance with the current legislation by these fires, the regional Commissions for emergencies prevention and control and fire safety adopted decisions not to extinguish or to suspend extinguishing. Fires do not pose threats to settlements and economic objects. Regional dispatching services of forestry carry out constant space monitoring of the dynamics of their development.

The Forestry Service recalls that responsibility for violating the requirements of fire safety rules in forests and adjacent territories is determined in accordance with Article 8.32 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation and Article 261 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. For unauthorized fire setting to dry grass one may be punished in accordance with Article 20.4 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation.
