Currently, seeds of coniferous, as well as hardwood, are laid in snow heaps for stratification in the subordinated institutions of the Ministry. A peculiarity of seeds of the most trees is that they are covered with a coarse, dense shell that does not pass water well. As a result, the seeds grow slowly and not amicably. In connection with this, it is difficult to grow woody plants without stratification of seeds.

 Stratification of seeds is one of the ways to prepare seeds for sowing, the main purpose of which is to increase germination. It consists in that the seeds are placed in a cold, moist environment for a sufficiently long time, from 1 month to a year. Under the influence of certain temperatures, moisture and air, seed shells are softening and sprouts are appearing. After that sprouted seeds are to be planted in a special substrate.

This work takes place in each forest enterprise, which has a permanent forest nursery. There are 50 similar nurseries in Tatarstan.

In pursuance of the Order of the Government of the Russian Federation No.АХ-П9-1100 of February 28, 2018, the Forest Department of the Volga-Region Federal District conducted an unscheduled inspection of the readiness of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan for fire hazardous season of 2018.

During the audit, according to the criteria for assessing and preparing of the Russian Federation constituent units for the fire hazardous season of 2018, the number of fire-fighting units, the number of specialized fire-fighting equipment are ready for taking timely measures to prevent possible forest fires and ensure effective control, human security, sustainable functioning of economic facilities and life support of the population in the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Employees of State Public Institution "Tetyushskiy Forestry District" together with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tatarstan and the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Republic of Tatarstan conducted a raid within the framework of the operational and prophylactic operation "Lesovoz". It was aimed at prevention of violators of the current legislation and cutting off the channels for transporting illegally harvested timber in the district and beyond it. The raid was conducted in Bolshie Tarkhany village and Kildyushevo of Tetyushskiy municipal district.

During the raid, four vehicles carrying sawn timber were inspected. By the results of the inspection, an administrative violation case was initiated.

The Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan notifies about the results of the auction for sale of the right to conclude a contract for purchase and sale of forest plantations to small and medium-sized enterprises located on the territory of Nurlatskiy forest district forest fund, conducted on March 27, 2018.

By lots No. 18, 21, 67 the auction was declared valid. With the winners of the auction, a protocol on the results of the auction is signed and contracts for the purchase and sale of forest plantations to small and medium-sized enterprises will be concluded within ten days after the information on the results of the auction is posted on the official website of the Russian Federation.

By lots No. 1-10, 13-17, 19, 20, 22-26, 28, 29, 31, 35, 39, 41-43, 45-47, 50-52, 54-66, the auction was declared invalid (subparagraph 1 paragraph 7 of Article 80 of the Forest Code of the Russian Federation). With a single participant of the auction, a protocol on the results of the auction is signed and contracts for the purchase and sale of forest plantations to small and medium-sized enterprises will be concluded within ten days after the date of posting information on the results of the auction on the official website of the Russian Federation in the information and telecommunications network "Internet" no later than twenty days after the day of the auction.

According to the lots No. 11, 12, 27, 30, 32-24, 36-38, 40, 44, 48-49, 53 applications for participation in the auction were not received, the auction commission of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan decided to declare the auction not held.

Today, on March 26, the Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan takes part in the National Forestry Forum in Udmurtia.

On the forum platforms, the participants will discuss the efficiency of state forest management, the prospects for the development of multipurpose use of forests, including the collection and processing of wild plants, hunting, timber harvesting by citizens for their own needs. The forum will not ignore the problem of forest supervision, including protection of forests from fires, as well as development of public organizations and the involvement of volunteer teams in forests conservation.

Today the meeting of Anti-corruption Commission under the Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan was held.

In Saby, All-Russian Table Tennis Tournament in memory of Nurgali Minnikhanov, the honored Forester of RSFSR (Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic), TASSR (Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic), Holder of Order “Honor Badge” and “October Revolution”, was held in "Narat" sports complex. The Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan took part in the solemn closing ceremony of the competitions.This year, the tournament gathered 215 of the strongest athletes from all over Russia. The winners were awarded diplomas and memorable gifts.Rifkat Minnikhanov was an honored guest of the event.

Within the framework of the International Forest Day in State Public Institution "Prigorodnyi Forest District" in Kazan the results of XI Open competition "Let’s Save the Forests of Tatarstan!" will be summarized.

The competition accepted materials reflecting the theme of careful attitude of man to the forest ecosystem: crafts, drawings, leaflets on the environmental and fire prevention topics. Participants of the competition are preschool children and students of Kazan schools, children's and youth organizations.

The competition is aimed at formation of the ecological outlook and culture of the younger generation, upbringing of love for the native nature and the region, preservation and careful attitude toward the forests of the Republic of Tatarstan. The materials are evaluated by the following nominations: "Let’s preserve the beautiful forests of my Tatarstan", "Forest is my green friend!", "Take care of forest from fires".

The best works for each of the nominations will be awarded with diplomas of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Board of Education of the city of Kazan, State Public Institution "Prigorodnyi Forest District" and will be presented with memorable prizes. Collective works will receive 1 diploma and 1 memorable prize for the team performing the work.

Within the framework of the International Day of Forest, Ravil Kuzyurov made a welcoming speech at the scientific session of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan. Myakzyum Salakhov, President of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan, Dzhaudat Faizrakhmanov, Rector of the Kazan Agricultural Academy, Kharis Musin, Corresponding Member of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan took part in the event. Representatives of the student community of the republic also participated in the event.

Within the framework of his welcome speech, the Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan congratulated attendees on the important memorable date within which the events took place and noted the importance of forests for each person and the world. Also, Ravil Kuzyurov, within the framework of the year of volunteering in Russia, encouraged students to participate actively in the events organized by the Ministry.

Haris Musin made a public presentation on the topic "The role of forests and the problem of their conservation in the Republic of Tatarstan". Within the framework of his speech, he called on the public to pay attention to the importance of forest conservation and noted on the satisfactory state of forest plantations of the Republic of Tatarstan.

At the end of the event, the President of the Academy of Sciences together with the Minister of Forestry awarded the best students of higher educational institutions of the republic with a scholarship of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Also in the foyer of the building on the second floor an exhibition exposition was displayed. Achievements of forestry in the last eight years: the model of the selection and seed center, the planting material (seedlings), minor forest products (honey, wooden products, etc.) were displayed there
