Activities on eradication of pest harborage areas, namely oak red-barred twist and green oak leaf roller, were completed. Activities were performed using aviation in woodland of Kaibitskiy forestry. The works were performed in the territory of 7822.3 hectares.  

The name “leaf roller” means that in case of disease leaves of plants roll up into straws or form bunches around inflorescences. It is small and invisible and frequently very attractive by coloring butterflies. Their adults particularly do not cause harm to plants, however worms may destroy up to 60% of leaves and up to half of buds and fruits.

Young campaigners – members of the school forestry under State Budgetary Institution “Scientific experimental suburban district forestry” hold a campaign “Save Forests from Fire!”. On June 13, 2017 in Derbyshki settlement the pupils of school No 84 posted and handed out to locals more than thousands of agitation leaflets on issues of forests conservation and protection. The school forestry of the city of Kazan is headed by Leisan Khayrullina. The teacher said that the school forestry was created for the purposes of native land studying, extra-curricular activities conducting, schoolchildren outlook expanding, assistance in the preservation of nearby forests and landscaping of the city of Kazan and the republic as a whole. Love for nature must be promoted from an early age.In the school forestry the children get knowledge about the rules of behavior in forest areas, environmental friendliness. Also the children are constant assistants to foresters: they take part in the activities on native land landscaping, take care of trees, collect seeds, and replenish parks with new birdhouses. This academic year in the territory of Suburban district forestry they hanged 15 houses for birds.

Within the  framework of an environmental council held in June 9 in the city of Kazan the representatives of forest complexes of the Arkhangelsk Region and the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District visited Forest Selective Seed Center of the Republic of Tatarstan for the purposes of studying and experience sharing. K.M.Doronin, the Minister of the Arkhangelsk Region and E.P.Plotnitskiy, the Deputy Head of Forest complex department of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District appreciated highly forestry management in Sabinskiy forestry.

 An alignment meeting “Cultivation of planting materials, reforestation and ravine plantings creation. Transfer of forest plantations to the forested areas” was held in Mamadyshskiy district. Almas Nazirov, the Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan, Anatoly Ivanov, the Head of the district, the Directors -Forest wardens, the Directors of the forestry enterprisesparticipated in the event.

During the meeting, the foresters visited Sokolskiy and Kumazanskiy forest districts, where an examination and analysis of forest cultures, ravine plantations created in 2013 and this year, was conducted. Forestry equipment was also demonstrated to the foresters.

At the meeting, Almas Nazirov noted that the works on forest cultures and protective plantations establishment were completed: "It is worth noting that this year the weather conditions favored the process of forest plantations establishment. Cool weather, for us – the foresters – is only on hand. At present, forest fires have been prevented in the Republic of Tatarstan, which is also very important in the summer period. Works on seedssowing in the forest gardens and forest cultures supplementing have almost been completed. At the same time, there are much work to be performed to carry out weeding, overplanting for the last 2 years, seeds harvesting and soilpreparation for reforestation and afforestation in the next spring period".

During the meeting, the Minister also added that the Mamadyshskiy district was the birthplace of hereditary foresters, and the specialists of this district had always been best known for their diligence, knowledge of their work and careful attitude to the forest.

Currently, much attention is paid to reforestation in the Republic of Tatarstan. For today, forest crops are laid on the area of ​​1831 hectares. Forcomparison, in 2015 thisvolumewas 1658 hectares.

In the territory of district forestry divisions the forest gardens, where in conditions of open grounds seedlings and planting stock of the main forest forming species are breeding, are functioning in order to provide the Republic of Tatarstan with planting materials while reforestation works performing.

Artificial forest formation may be conducted in two ways: seedlings and planting stock planting and seed sowing in reforesting areas.

Spring sowing of forest seeds in forest gardens of subordinate authorities is completed fully.  

By planned 22 hectares, the experts conducted sowing in the territory of 24 hectares. By the way, at present a work on seedlings weeding and watering are conducted in the forest gardens. 

Annually on June 5 all people in the world celebrate environmental international holiday – a World Environment Day.

History of the holiday is connected with the conference dedicated to environmental issues. Even more than 40 years ago people were troubled about issues of environmental pollution, further development of human civilization.

In 1971 more than 2 thousand well-known politicians, researchers, writers and painters from 23 countries signed and send a compellation to UN General Secretary. The document contained matters, warning humanity of imminent danger, related to widespread pollution of nature. A board on environment protection was founded, its authorized representatives are performing their activities in each country of the world. Specialized organizations, aimed at environment protection, were founded. The members of such organizations aimed not only at minimizing the damage caused by developing industry to nature, but also at carrying out events and campaigns focused on protection of human environment. Nowadays world community takes all available measures for improving environmental situation.

In a World environment day foresters call all citizens to take care of nature and prevent environmental disorder of our home-world. 

Staff members of Aksubayevskiy, Cheboksarskiy and Ibraikinskiy forest divisions cleared forests from garbage within the framework of environmental campaign “Clean forests of Tatarstan”. The foresters gathered more than 4 cubic meters of household garbage, thereby making their contribution in environment improvement. “Clean forests of Tatarstan” campaign is continuing. Anyone not indifferent to problems of native land may take part in the environmental event. Forest wardens call everyone to join the environmental campaign, to help forests become cleaner and more attractive.

Within the framework of the republican campaign "100 acts of kindness for conservancy Tatarstan" an environmental task force was held in the territory of the Sviyazhsk Reserve. For many years, the groups of the Sviyazhsk secondary educational school, the Makulovsk secondary educational school have been active partners and participants of the action. Pupils of the 5-7th grades, members of the circle "Young defenders of nature”, came to the reserve. The children together cleared the banks of the Sviyaga River in the Isakovo settlement, the Quiet Plyos. All participants of the task force received diplomas of the Ministry of Forestry, prizes and sweet gifts.

A delegation of the Republican Forestry Agency of the Republic of Buryatia visited the Republic of Tatarstan for getting acquainted with forestry management and exchange of experience. The delegates visited Forest selection and seed center in Sabinskiy district, where they got acquainted with experience of cultivation of planting material with closed rootstock. During the event the representatives discussed promising trends of cooperation and possibilities of further cooperation.

New revision of Rules of sanitary safety in forests, introduced by the Ministry of Environment Protection and Natural Resources, was approved by the Decree of the Russian Federation Government No607 of  May 20, 2017.

The Rules were approved in a new version by signed decree for the purposes of improvement of forests protection regulation from pests and for bringing the regulatory legal acts in conformity with the Forest Code.

In a new version of Rules, in particular, a system of measures of sanitary safety in forests was extended, that was aimed at increasing of forests sustainability, main principles of planning and organization of events devoted to forests protection were determined.

A categories grade of trees state is introducing; in accordance with such grade an assessment of sanitary and forest pathology conditions of forests upon realization of sanitary safety measures will be made.

As well as, terms for storage of cut timber in forests by forest districts are set.

The decisions are focused on reduction of damages from adversity impact on forests and increasing of forest ecosystems sustainability.
