Under the Year of Water Protection Zones in the Republic of Tatarstan held from February 1, 2016 to September 2016 the republican competition of children's amateur associations “The Earth Breath” the founder of which is the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan was held.

On September 29 in the Agryzsky Municipal District of the Republic of Tatarstan, in particular, in Kichke-Tan Nature Sanctuary where a memorial headstone of the Earth Charter was placed the results of the III republican competition of children's amateur associations “The Earth Breath” were announced.

The aims and objectives of the competition is cultivating in children and teenagers of responsibility for the preservation of environment favorable to life, drawing of children’s and youth’s attention to the careful attitude to nature, development of children’s and teenagers’ creativity, improvement of the efficiency of the children's recreation centers work, improvement of the forms and methods of environmental education, as well as attracting a greater number of children and teenagers to activities in studios, hobby clubs, and amateur associations.

The Director of the Republican Centre for Traditional Culture Development, Candidate of Philological Sciences, the Honored Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan F.Kh.Zavgarova, the Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Political Council of the Republican Social Movement “Tatarstan – New Century”, Candidate of Legal Sciences A.A.Tarkhanova, the Head of the Department of Environmental Education and Interaction with Non-governmental Organizations of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Tatarstan D.F.Valiullin, the representatives of administration of the Agryzsky Municipal District of Tatarstan, scientists, and club experts engaged in environmental education of children and youth took part in the event. Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan was represented by the Head of Kichke-Tan Nature Sanctuary, the Honored Ecologist of the Republic of Tatarstan F.G.Fayzullin.

The program included the photo exhibitions, introduction of the competition winners, visiting of the memorial headstone, master classes on making handicrafts from waste materials, tree planting and others.

In competition there were 51 presentments of children's amateur associations of 17 municipal districts of the Republic of Tatarstan. During the competition, the children have been working on the preservation of environment favorable to life, cultivation of careful attitude to nature.

The competition participants – 7 to 14 years old children – under the guidance of adults have planted trees in their native villages, cleaned up the springs, organized performances of propaganda teams and amateur theater concerning environmental protection, exhibitions of handicrafts made of natural materials, Environmental Months, environmental holidays: “The World Animal Protection Day”, “The World Water Day”, “The Earth Day”, “The Health Day”, “The Birds Day”, “The Day of Ecologist”, field sessions, etc. The competition assisted the younger generation to form environmental culture, the responsibility for the consequences of human activities.

In the greeting words to the forum participants the Head of Kichke-Tan Nature Sanctuary Akhly Faizullin expressed gratitude for the great contribution to the patriotic and moral education of the younger generation within the framework of the international project “The Earth Charter".

At the memorial headstone he noted that it is necessary to pass the main work to promote the ideas, norms, principles and values of the Earth Charter on to the young people, on to the level of all educational institutions of the Republic of Tatarstan, in order to cultivate a sense of common responsibility for the fate of the Earth Planet.

In nomination “The best amateur association” in age category of 7 to 12 years, there were the following winners:

1st place – Children's Amateur Association “Saflyk”, Bolshenurkeevsky Rural Recreation Center, Sarmanovsky Municipal District of the Republic of Tatarstan; Instructor I.I. Kutusova, the project “Let's save the planet for future generations”;

2nd place – Children’s folklore ensemble “Eruzhara”, Bimsky Rural Recreation Center, Agryzsky Municipal District of the Republic of Tatarstan; Instructor O.A.Izibaeva, the project “Our Easy-going Summer”;

3rd place – Ensemble “Rhythm”, Petrovsky Rural Recreation Center, Centralized District Hobby Club System, Bugulminsky Municipal District of the Republic of Tatarstan; Instructor G.A. Konycheva, the project “This Earth is yours and mine”.

In the second nomination “The best amateur association” in age category of 13 to 16 years, there were the following winners:

 1st place – Children's amateur association “Chasovye Prirody”, Chetyrchinsky Rural Recreation Center, Chistopolsky Municipal District of the Republic of Tatarstan; Instructor L.Yu. Grinina, the project “We are the children of the native land”;

2nd place – Children’s amateur environmental association “Yashel Planeta”, Kutlushkinsky Rural Recreation Center, Chistopolsky Municipal District of the Republic of Tatarstan; Instructor G.Kh.Gataullina, the project “Bez tabigat balalary”;

3rd place – Children's amateur association of Tatbulyarsky Rural Recreation Center, Muslyumovsky Municipal District of the Republic of Tatarstan; Instructor R.A. Khusnimardanova, the project “Beterchekler”.

On September 30, 2016 the staff of Baltasinsky Nature Sanctuary, the foresters of the Baltasinsky Forestry, the 7th grade pupils of the Baltasinskaya High School and the staff of Baltasi gas took part in the campaign “The Day of Tree Planting”.

The activists planted 600 seedlings – birch, pine, larch – on the territory of the Baltasinsky Nature Sanctuary. At the end of the fruitful work the participants organized the tea party. In total, 35 people took part in the event.

“Plant your tree!” – was a motto of the campaign “The Day of Tree Planting” in Kazanbashskaya High School of the Arsky District. About 70 people took an active part in the event. They are the staff of Ashit Nature Sanctuary, school staff, students of 1-9 grades and their parents. The schoolchildren planted their personalized trees with great enthusiasm. Thanks to the joint efforts the First-grader Walkway and the Leaver Walkway were established. The primary school pupils have received their first experience of creative activity. Now, the First-grader Walkway will grow together with them, and the Leaver Walkway will remind of the years at school. By combined efforts more than 100 trees of different species – spruce, pine, mountain ash, and lime – were planted on the territory adjacent to the school. The annual campaign “The Day of Tree Planting” helps to cultivate the careful attitude of the younger generation towards the forest, serves as the propaganda among the population reminding of the necessity to plant trees and shrubs, to reproduce and conserve the woodland.

On September 27, 2016 in the library of the Lubyansky Forest Engineering College a bright and vibrant festivity “The rite of passage to the dormitory residents” was held. The hall was full of “newly-minted residents” and the old-timers. On the feast the teachers of the children were invited: Deputy Director for Educational Work Sirazetdinova N.M., teachers and homeroom teachers. The concert program prepared by seniors aroused a burst of emotions. “The rite of passage to residents” will present in the first year students’ mind for a long time, because it is in a dormitory one can feel a real full-fledged student life. The festivity ended with homemade tea. The staff of the Lubyansky Forest Engineering College expressed their gratitude to teachers of dormitories that organized the festive event and they wished the residents good luck, positive and active student life.

The foresters decided to support Kazan in voting for the symbols for the new 200 and 2000 rubles banknotes by way of flash mob. At the end of the young trees’ planting the campaign participants made a collective picture with an appeal to vote for the capital of Tatarstan.

Last Saturday the republican environmental campaign “The Day of Tree Planting” started. The employees of the Office of the President of Tatarstan, the Cabinet of Ministers of Tatarstan, the State Council of Tatarstan, and the Ministry of Forestry of Tatarstan took part in young trees planting in the Vakhitovsky Square Garden of the Privolzhsky district of Kazan. The residents of the capital, when passing, took up the shovels and joined the campaign. As a result of the joint work in the Vakhitovsky Square Garden a memory walkway of 350 fir trees was formed. The environmental campaign in the republic will last until October 31. In this period in Tatarstan the spruce, pine, larch, birch and other trees and shrubs will be planted on an area of 350 hectares.

On September 30, 2016 the teams of Agryz town and Agryzskoye Forestry have launched a national campaign “The Day of Tree Planting”. More than 130 people (42 organizations) are actively involved in the planting of trees.

In homage to the veterans of the Great Patriotic War the staff of the forestry planted pines and firs as the memory walkway.

Among the seedlings there are pine, fir, lime, birch, rowan and others.

On October 1, 2016 the campaign will be continued. The trees will planted in the forest, in the city, in rural areas, near schools and day-care centers.

The young trees in the Philharmonic’s park were planted on behalf of the Honored Artist of Russia, the People's Artist of Tatarstan Emil Zalyaletdinov and the People's Artist of Tatarstan Flyura Suleymanova. The representatives of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan took place in that event.

The tradition to plant the personalized trees was founded by the Philharmonic last year in order to memorialize the names of famous artists of the Tatar people. The first trees were planted by the People's Artist of Russia and Tatarstan, the winner of the award named after Tukay Ilgam Shakirov and the Honored Artist of Russia, the People's Artist of Tatarstan, winner of the award named after Tukay Alfiya Avzalova. On April 26, 2016 the trees were planted in honor of the 130th anniversary of the birth of Gabdulla Tukay and the 70th anniversary of the naming of the poet.

The staff of the Kaleykinskoye Forestry together with the staff of the Kaleykinsky Forest Establishment congratulated the pensioners on the Day of Older Persons. The forestry experts visited the pensioners at the places of their residence and gave veterans the food packages and gifts. The warm words wishing good health were addressed to 52 veterans.

Tomorrow, on October 1, 2016, the republican environmental campaign “The Day of Tree Planting” will start. We invite all those fascinated with nature to join the campaign and take part in the planting of young trees. It is to be recalled that every person may request the forestry at place of residence to be provided with planting material free of charge.

In Kazan, the Day of Tree Planting will be held on the territory of the Vakhitovsky Square Garden in the Privolzhsky district of the capital (the intersection of Nazarbayev Street and Tekhnicheskaya Street). The employees of theOffice of the President of Tatarstan, of the Cabinet of Ministers of Tatarstan and of the State Council of Tatarstan will participate in the planting. The event starts at 9.00.
