Under the Year of Water Protection Zones in the Republic of Tatarstan held from February 1, 2016 to September 2016 the republican competition of children's amateur associations “The Earth Breath” the founder of which is the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan was held.
On September 29 in the Agryzsky Municipal District of the Republic of Tatarstan, in particular, in Kichke-Tan Nature Sanctuary where a memorial headstone of the Earth Charter was placed the results of the III republican competition of children's amateur associations “The Earth Breath” were announced.
The aims and objectives of the competition is cultivating in children and teenagers of responsibility for the preservation of environment favorable to life, drawing of children’s and youth’s attention to the careful attitude to nature, development of children’s and teenagers’ creativity, improvement of the efficiency of the children's recreation centers work, improvement of the forms and methods of environmental education, as well as attracting a greater number of children and teenagers to activities in studios, hobby clubs, and amateur associations.
The Director of the Republican Centre for Traditional Culture Development, Candidate of Philological Sciences, the Honored Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan F.Kh.Zavgarova, the Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Political Council of the Republican Social Movement “Tatarstan – New Century”, Candidate of Legal Sciences A.A.Tarkhanova, the Head of the Department of Environmental Education and Interaction with Non-governmental Organizations of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Tatarstan D.F.Valiullin, the representatives of administration of the Agryzsky Municipal District of Tatarstan, scientists, and club experts engaged in environmental education of children and youth took part in the event. Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan was represented by the Head of Kichke-Tan Nature Sanctuary, the Honored Ecologist of the Republic of Tatarstan F.G.Fayzullin.
The program included the photo exhibitions, introduction of the competition winners, visiting of the memorial headstone, master classes on making handicrafts from waste materials, tree planting and others.
In competition there were 51 presentments of children's amateur associations of 17 municipal districts of the Republic of Tatarstan. During the competition, the children have been working on the preservation of environment favorable to life, cultivation of careful attitude to nature.
The competition participants – 7 to 14 years old children – under the guidance of adults have planted trees in their native villages, cleaned up the springs, organized performances of propaganda teams and amateur theater concerning environmental protection, exhibitions of handicrafts made of natural materials, Environmental Months, environmental holidays: “The World Animal Protection Day”, “The World Water Day”, “The Earth Day”, “The Health Day”, “The Birds Day”, “The Day of Ecologist”, field sessions, etc. The competition assisted the younger generation to form environmental culture, the responsibility for the consequences of human activities.
In the greeting words to the forum participants the Head of Kichke-Tan Nature Sanctuary Akhly Faizullin expressed gratitude for the great contribution to the patriotic and moral education of the younger generation within the framework of the international project “The Earth Charter".
At the memorial headstone he noted that it is necessary to pass the main work to promote the ideas, norms, principles and values of the Earth Charter on to the young people, on to the level of all educational institutions of the Republic of Tatarstan, in order to cultivate a sense of common responsibility for the fate of the Earth Planet.
In nomination “The best amateur association” in age category of 7 to 12 years, there were the following winners:
1st place – Children's Amateur Association “Saflyk”, Bolshenurkeevsky Rural Recreation Center, Sarmanovsky Municipal District of the Republic of Tatarstan; Instructor I.I. Kutusova, the project “Let's save the planet for future generations”;
2nd place – Children’s folklore ensemble “Eruzhara”, Bimsky Rural Recreation Center, Agryzsky Municipal District of the Republic of Tatarstan; Instructor O.A.Izibaeva, the project “Our Easy-going Summer”;
3rd place – Ensemble “Rhythm”, Petrovsky Rural Recreation Center, Centralized District Hobby Club System, Bugulminsky Municipal District of the Republic of Tatarstan; Instructor G.A. Konycheva, the project “This Earth is yours and mine”.
In the second nomination “The best amateur association” in age category of 13 to 16 years, there were the following winners:
1st place – Children's amateur association “Chasovye Prirody”, Chetyrchinsky Rural Recreation Center, Chistopolsky Municipal District of the Republic of Tatarstan; Instructor L.Yu. Grinina, the project “We are the children of the native land”;
2nd place – Children’s amateur environmental association “Yashel Planeta”, Kutlushkinsky Rural Recreation Center, Chistopolsky Municipal District of the Republic of Tatarstan; Instructor G.Kh.Gataullina, the project “Bez tabigat balalary”;
3rd place – Children's amateur association of Tatbulyarsky Rural Recreation Center, Muslyumovsky Municipal District of the Republic of Tatarstan; Instructor R.A. Khusnimardanova, the project “Beterchekler”.
