The foresters are ready to support the project aimed at preserving and preventing pollution of the Volga River

A round table meeting on the topic "On the implementation of measures aimed at preserving and preventing pollution of the Volga River" was held at the Kazan City Hall with the participation of deputies of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, representatives of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan, federal executive bodies. The Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan R.A. Kuzurov also participated in the meeting.

During the meeting, a number of issues were discussed, in particular, on strengthening the coastal strips of the Volga River, which will contribute to the creation of a network of protective water protection forest plantations. At the same time, foresters consider it necessary to continue work on creating anti-erosion protective plantations within the framework of the current secor program "Development of forestry in the Republic of Tatarstan in the period from 2014-2020".

Within the framework of the round table meeting in the hall of the Kazan City Hall, the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan organized an exhibition, attended by Vladimir Burmatov, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Ecology and Environmental Protection, Sergei Yastrebov, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation, Alexey Pesoshin, Prime Minister of the Republic Tatarstan, Takhir Khadeev, Chairman of the Committee on Ecology, Nature Management, Agro-Industrial and Food Policy of the RT State Council and others. Guests of the exhibition were told about the Forest Selection and Seed Center of the Republic of Tatarstan, which annually grows 12 million pieces of planting stock of coniferous species.
