"People's control" and RDCC help to fight against violators of forest legislation
System of GIS "People's Control" and functioning of the regional dispatch control center (RDCC) are important mechanisms to prevent violations of forest legislation and eliminate the identified violations.
Since the beginning of 2018, the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan received 292 appeals through the RDCC, 184 of which were about fires, 47 about garbage dumps, 1 about illegal logging, and 60 about other issues related to forest management.
People also widely use the GIS "People's Control". This year, twice as many requests were received from citizens through this system than in the same period of 2017. Positive decisions were accepted by 89% of applications. The main part of appeals is related to the issues of unauthorized dumping of garbage in the forest and landscaping. The largest number of messages came from residents of the city of Kazan and Elabuzhskiy district.
