A Meeting on development of the Forest Plan of the Republic of Tatarstan for 2019-2028 was held in the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan

Discussion of the Forest Plan was headed by the Minister of Forestry of the Republic, Ravil Kuzyurov, with the participation of his deputies, heads of relevant departments and representatives of the Kazan branch of Federal State Budgetary Institution “Roslesinforg”.
The Forest Plan of the Republic of Tatarstan is a document that defines the goals and objectives of forest planning, measures for implementation of development of forests located in the territory of Tatarstan. The document is prepared in the ministry in accordance with Art. 83 of the Forest Code of the Russian Federation. The draft Plan uses materials of forest management, forest inventory, forest registry, data on the use, conservation, protection and reproduction of forests, plans for socio-economic development.
During the meeting, R.A. Kuzyurov drew attention to a number of points that need to be improved in the draft Forest Plan. In particular, the Minister noted the need to strengthen state forest control over reforestation, add preventive measures to protect forests, increase measures on forest fire safety and a number of other important issues that need to be improved.
“We, foresters, should be responsible for the next ten years before the inhabitants of our republic, the younger generation - and therefore must preserve and increase the forest expanses of our native land”, said the Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan during the meeting.
After elimination of remarks the document will be sent for approval to the Federal Forestry Agency. Forest plan 2019-2028 will be the basis of all activities related to forest management in the Republic of Tatarstan.
