In 2018, reforestation work on the area of more than 2.3 thousand hectares was carried out in Tatarstan
The Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan summed up the implementation of “Forest Reproduction” sub-program of the Program “Development of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan for 2014–2021” in 2018.
Within its framework, reforestation work was carried out on the area of more than 2.3 thousand hectares. Protective forest plantations were laid on the area of over 2.4 thousand hectares, including gully and ravine - 2.2 thousand hectares, shelter forests - 167 hectares, water protection - 59 hectares. Also, the following work was carried out in the shelter stands: clearing of deadwood - on the area of 143 hectares, selective felling - 578 hectares, supplementing of existing plantations - 32 hectares.
40.1 tons of seeds of the main forest-forming species were harvested, including 737 kg of conifers and more than 11.3 tons with improved hereditary properties.
