Yesterday, on November 29, the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Tatarstan held a videoconference meeting on prevention and suppression of illegal harvesting, transportation and processing of wood in the Republic of Tatarstan. The meeting was attended by the Deputy Head of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Tatarstan Aleksandr Razumnov, the Prosecutor of the Tatar Environmental Inter-District Prosecutor’s Office, Ilsur Gilmutdinov, the Prosecutor of the Kazan Inter-District Environmental Prosecutor’s Office, Albert Khabirov, the Head of State Control and Supervision Department of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan, Niyaz Tazmeyev, heads of territorial administrations of State Traffic Safety Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
During the meeting, the results of operational and preventive activities "Lesovoz" were summed up. Thus, in 2018, the state forest inspectors of the Republic of Tatarstan, together with the staff of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, conducted more than 1.2 thousand joint raids, checked more than 350 vehicles carrying wood and lumber. 25 cases of administrative offenses under subsection 5 of Article 8.28.1 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation for transporting wood without an accompanying document established by the forest legislation have been initiated.
Considering that the bulk of wood is transported at night, the order of actions of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and state forest inspectors when checking accompanying documents on public roads was determined.
