Raids against illegal cutting of coniferous trees began in Nizhnekamskiy municipal district of the Republic of Tatarstan. “Traditionally, in the pre-New Year period, we are intensifying efforts to ensure safety of young conifers. Mostly they fell trees in adjacent territories to the forest and in forests itself, in the area of Biklyanskiy district forestry, next to Korabelnaya Grove”, said Aleksandr Pashin, a District Forester of the Biklyanskiy district forestry of the State Public Institution of the Republic of Tatarstan “Nizhnekamskiy Forest District”.
Throughout the Republic of Tatarstan, the inter-agency operational preventive event "El" starts on December 20 of the current year. Let us recall that illegal logging, damage to forest stands entails imposition of an administrative fine on citizens in the amount of 3 to 4 thousand rubles, on officials - from 20 to 40 thousand rubles, on legal entities - from 200 to 300 thousand rubles. In addition, a person who has committed illegal logging will have to compensate for damage caused to forests, which depends on the species of felled tree and the place of its growth, the category of forest protection.
All violations of the forest legislation must be reported to the direct forest guard number 8-800-100-94-00, as well as through the People’s Control mobile application.
