A Meeting of the Public Council took place in the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan

Today the Ministry held a Meeting of the Public Council under the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan. Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan, Ravil Kuzyurov, Chairman of the Public Council Evgeniy Guskov, employees of the Ministry and others participated in the event.

Head of the State Control and Supervision Department, Niyaz Tazmeyev, and the Head of the Forest Resources Protection and Conservation Sector, Nail Mirsiyapov, delivered reports at the Meeting.

Niyaz Tazmeyev dwelled on implementation of state forest supervision. He said that at present the number of state forest inspectors was 646 people. Over the past 5 years (2013-2017), they identified about 3.4 thousand violations of forest relations, the total amount of damage to forests amounted to 44.4 million rubles.

“The most frequently detected violation is illegal logging of forest plantations”, said Niyaz Tazmeyev.

The speaker also paid attention to the aspects of increasing the effectiveness of state forest inspectors.

Nail Mirsiyapov acquainted the meeting participants with measures taken to protect forests from fires and their protection from pests and diseases.

According to him, duration of the fire season averages 184 days in Tatarstan. The number of forest fire formations is 343 people, there are 150 mobile fire extinguishing groups, and air patrols of forests are also conducted.

“Fire prevention propaganda among the population, educational and explanatory work among schoolchildren, tourists and holidaymakers, making and installing sign-ups, distributing special memos and leaflets, publishing in the media play a major role in preventing forest fires”, Nail Mirsiyapov emphasized.

In order to protect forests, works on forest pathological examination, sanitary and health measures, etc. are carried out.

At the end of the meeting there was a discussion and exchange of views on possibilities of forest fund preserving and increasing, ensuring the rational use of forest resources.
